With less than a big blind Zhuoqun Zhang went all-in on almost every hand, getting a chop then a triple up.

He finally got outdone when, under the gun and with only 195,000 behind, he raised to 175,000, leaving 20,000 behind. After a series of folds, Christian Harder, on the button, called to see a flop.

The dealer fanned out A♠ T♦ 7♠ Zhang checked prompting Harder to go in hard with an all-in. Zhang called with his remaining chips, leading them to showdown.

It was a battle of the blinds with Zhuoqun Zhang in the small blind shoving all-in for 1,255,000. Big blind Dillon Najor asked for a count, looked at his chips, and covered by a hairline, made the call, putting his tournament run on the line.

It was looking good for Najor, who dominated Zhang's hand. He was pushed further ahead when he caught top pair on the K♥ 3♥ 8♣ flop.

Just to rub it in, another K♣ came on the turn improving his hand to trips. The 8♥ was a formality. Happy to double up, Najor scooped the pot, leaving Zhang with less than a big blind.

Abraham Ceesvin opened to 120,000 from the cutoff and Trung Quan Nguyen moved all in on the button for his last 160,000. Calvin Lee called from the big blind as did Ceesvin, taking the players three-ways to the 6♥ 9♦ 4♦ flop.

Action was checked by both non-all in players to see the 4♠ turn, the 7♠ river and again to showdown. All three players flip over their hands and Nguyen was left to see his fate.

The three players were taken to a 2♥ 6♦ 8♣ flop, and action checked to Harder who bet 125,000. Zhuoqun called, and Nguyen gave up his cards, leaving the action to go heads up to the J♥ turn.

Harder swiftly checked and Zhuoqun thought about his action before checking back.

Lee bet out 230,000 and Rangkatekarn made another quick call.

Sasaki Hits the Rail

Yoko Sasaki

Yoko Sasaki opened from under the gun for 75,000. Action went to Johan Pedersen in middle position who called and James Mendoza defended his big blind.

The J♥ T♣ 2♣ flop saw Mendoza check, Sasaki continue for 75,000 and Pedersen snap call. Mendoza also paid to see the 3♦ turn and checked again to Sasaki.

Sasaki moved all on for her last 475,000 and it didn't take long for Pedersen to flick in a chip and make the call. Mendoza mucked, leaving the pair to go heads up to showdown.

Choong Catches Liu on the River

In one of the first hand of the day, Yoko Sasaki opened to 60,000 from the hijack and Yuhan Liu three-bet jammed for his remaining 300,000 from the cutoff. Yita Choong called and covered Liu on the button, and Sasaki quickly mucked her hand.

Liu was ahead, and held on the K♠ 8♠ J♠ flop. There was a sweat of the straight draw for Choong and the spade flush, but the 2♦ turn didn't change the standings.

The dealer fanned out J♠ K♦ 9♣. Lee check-called Harder's continuation bet of 60,000 taking them to the turn.

Race to the Super High Roller Title Begins

The APT Jeju 2025 Super High Roller kicks back off today at 11:15 AM local time here in Casino Jeju. With 26 players returning to battle for the crown, a full day of action is expected to get underway.

A total of 99 entries (67 unique) made up the KRW 1,368,427,500 ( ~USD 1,021,215) total prize pool yesterday, so it didn’t take long for this event to smash the KRW 500,000 guarantee, as it had more than doubled the target by early afternoon. When late registration ended, the event stood as the second-richest APT Super High Roller ever held in Korea, surpassing last year's KRW 1,340,782,500 ( ~USD 950,910) total, which saw 97 entries.

A number of big-name players returned for one of the first major events on this series schedule to battle it out for the top prize of KRW 355,667,500 ( ~USD 265,425), along with the exciting opportunity to win their way into the APT Championship Main Event.

For those who made it through a full day of play yesterday, it certainly won’t be their first rodeo, as the remaining field boasts an impressive combined record.

Joseph Cheong

Among the notable big-name players still standing are multi-APT trophy holder Joseph Cheong (1,025,000), previous APT Main Event champion Abraham Ceesvin (950,000), and newcomer high roller Yoko Sasaki (565,000).

It is Teeraphat Rangkatekarn who leads the way this morning when action resumes, holding nearly double the chip stack of Calvin Lee, who returns second on the leaderboard.
