Edmond Chim Crowned APT Incheon 2025 High Roller Champion for KRW 220,910,000 (~$159,730)

The Event #84: APT High Roller smashed the player entry record for a Korean held APT High Roller event drawing 245 players and generating a total prize pool of KRW 1,058,400,000 (~USD 765,293), more than doubling the KRW 500,000,000 guarantee.
Ending at the top of the record-breaking event was Hong Kong’s Edmond Chim, who took home the title, the KRW 220,910,000 (~USD 159,730) first-place prize, and an APT Championship ticket for the ATPC Main Event in November, worth TWD 350,000.
Chim defeated Jun Li in a short heads-up battle to secure his name in the APT history books. This win marks Chim's first major title and biggest ever live cash to date.
Place | Player | Prize (USD) |
---|---|---|
1 | NY Ngai Yeung Edmond Chim | $159,730 |
2 | JL Jun Li | $107,555 |
3 | CC Cheng Cheng | $75,830 |
4 | EK Eisuke Katsuren | $61,480 |
5 | MM Murly Manokharan | $48,640 |
6 | KD Kanwen Du | $36,935 |
7 | YH Yoshihiko Hirano | $26,965 |
8 | DS Dicky Siu Hang Tsang | $19,710 |
9 | XY Xiang Yu | $16,310 |
A total of 59 players took their seats for Day 2, and the last 31 standing made the money with a minimum cash of KRW 9,190,000 (~USD 6,600). Thailand’s Nataz Butsrita started the day with the largest stack, but unfortunately for Butsrita, he was unable to maintain his lead and finished out of the money.
After about eight hours of play, the field was reduced to a final table of nine players after Wai Fung Tang was eliminated in tenth spot as the final table bubble boy.
British player Jun Li started the final table with a commanding chip lead of nearly twice the closest player, Japan’s Yoshihiko Hirano. Li soon built an even bigger chip lead after being hit by the deck in the early final stages of the final table.

First to get eliminated from the final table was Yu Xiang Yu when his Ace-Jack flopped an Ace against Li’s pocket nines which flopped a set.
Next to go was APT Incheon 2019 Main Event winner Dicky Tsang from Hong Kong, when his Ace-nine couldn't outdraw Murly Manokharan’s Ace-Jack.

Hirano was next out of the door in 7th spot when his Ace-King spiked an Ace on the flop only for Li to river a straight with his ten-four.
In back-to-back knock-outs Kanwen Du was sent packing in 6th spot when his pocket Queens went up against Manokaran's pocket fives only for Manokaran to flop a set to outdraw Du and send him home.
Manokaran was the next man to get sent to the rail in 5th spot when his pocket tens were outdrawn by Cheng Cheng's Ace-Jack when an ace came on the flop.

Eisuke Katsuren got sent to the cage in 4th spot when his pocket nines were outdrawn by Cheng's ten-four, Cheng hitting a ten on the turn.
Cheng was the next to depart stage left in 3rd spot when his King-Jack ran into Chim's pocket Queens and couldn't improve. Cheng picks up a career best score in taking home the third place prize money of KRW 104,870,000(~USD 75,830).
The heads up match between Chim and Li was a pretty short affair and Chim started with a near four-to-one chip advantage over Li. Li did get a double-up to have some hope but this was short lived. Li is a regular on the APT series with over USD 700,000 in lifetime earnings and 2024 APT Taipei Zodiac Classic Champion and today's result is his second largest cash to date.
The final hand saw Chim spike a Jack with his Queen-Jack to outdraw Li's King-seven and send Li to the rail in second place and claim his first Major Title along with the KRW 220,910,000 (~$159,730) first-place prize and not forgetting the additional APT Championship ticket for the ATPC Main Event in November. Chim can also now add to his resume being the fist Hong Kong native to win one of the three flagship Lions.
This concludes our coverage of the APT Incheon 2025. We are looking forward to you joining us for all the action at the APT Jeju 2025 running 26th September to 5th October 2025.
