Win Meng Tan opened for 700,000 and was called by The Naing on the button. The blinds folded, and the dealer revealed the flop: 3♣ 5♠ 2♣ . Tan immediately shoved all-in for 1,200,000, risking his tournament life, and The Naing called.

Both players had a gutshot straight draw, but Tan’s ace-king was in the lead. The turn brought the 4♦ , completing the straight for both players. The river 2♥ changed nothing, and they split the pot, each taking back their chips.

The action picked up with The Naing, at risk, going all-in for 1,300,000, and was called by Manuel Blaschke on a completed board.

Blaschke was already in the lead, and the flop of 6♦ T♥ K♣ gave him even more outs, leaving The Naing hoping for a hit on the turn or river to survive.

The turn 9♣ provided exactly what The Naing needed, giving him a pair of nines. The river A♠ improved his hand to two pair, and with that, he doubled up, staying in the hunt for the Bronze Lion.

The action picked up on a completed board of K♥ 4♣ J♥ T♦ 6♦ , with The Naing betting 250,000. After using a time bank, Manuel Blaschke shoved all-in for 1,220,000. The Naing quickly called.

Blaschke had rivered two pair, sixes and fours, while The Naing only held a pair of jacks from the flop. Blaschke’s hand held up, doubling him up.

The Naing opened for 160,000 from middle position, only to face an all-in shove from Nevan Chang in late position for 1,525,000. Without hesitation, The Naing called before the dealer had even completed the count.

It was a coin flip, and Chang hoped for the board to tilt in his favor. The dealer flopped 5♣ 9♣ 5♥ , still keeping The Naing in the lead but giving Chang some hope for the next two streets.

The turn 3♠ didn’t help Chang, and when the river came 8♠ , The Naing’s set of eights sealed Chang’s fate, eliminating him from the tournament.

The Naing opened for 120,000 from late position, only to be re-raised to 390,000 by Martin Stausholm in the hijack. After checking how much Stausholm had behind, The Naing announced all-in, and Stausholm snap-called.

The flop came T♥ 2♦ 5♣ , giving The Naing a pair of tens, but still trailing Stausholm’s queens. The turn 4♦ and river 5♠ brought no help for The Naing, and Stausholm's lead held, doubling him up and leaving The Naing's stack significantly reduced.

The action picked up on the turn with The Naing betting 275,000—25,000 more than the pot—on a board of 8♣ 6♦ T♣ 8♠ . Nevan Chang made the call.

On the river K♠ , The Naing used a time bank card before deciding to bet 300,000. With 1,200,000 behind, Chang took his time, ultimately using two time bank cards before shoving all-in. After some consideration, The Naing folded, surrendering the hand.

The Naing opened from the cut-off and got two callers, Zhongxian Li next to him on the button and Martin Stausholm in the big-blind. On A♦ K♦ 3♥ Naing went for 150,000 continuation bet which only got called by Li.

On the turn the 4♥ appeared and Naing continued his aggression with a 185,000 bet. Li called once more and the river brought the 2♣ . Naing put Li all-in, euqaling around 350,000. Li thought about for a few seconds before deciding he did not believe Naing and called.

Unfortunately, for Li his hero call did not get rewarded and he busted shortly before the final table in 11th place. The Naing is now in commanding chip lead and certainly will put lot of pressure on his opponents on the bubble.

After sixteen 40-minute levels, Day 1 of the APT Phu Quoc VND 120,000,000 Super High Roller is in the books with 13 players remaining. A total of 55 entries (37 unique) were recorded at the Corona Theater, with numerous notable players generating a prize pool of VND 5,761,800,000 (~$226,840).

Naing maintained his momentum through the final level, capping off Day 1 perfectly by scooping a pot against Van Dong with turned trip queens, shortly after eliminating Dylan Foster with ace-queen.

The second-highest stack belongs to Denmark’s Martin Godsk Stausholm, the 2019 APT Manila High Roller Single Day champion, who surpassed the three-million milestone in total live earnings, accumulated impressive 2,340,000 chips to start Day 2.

Other notable players advancing to the Final Day include Mikael Andersson (920,000), Julian Warhurst (875,000), 2023 APT Incheon High Roller 8-Max champion Thanisorn Saelor (800,000), and Nevan Chang (245,000).

Naing checked and Dong bet once more, this time for 100,000. Naing called again and the river brought the T♥ . Again Naing checked his action to Dong who put out a strong bet of 500,000. Naing only had to check his cards to make sure and then made the call.

Shortly after The Naing busted Dylan Foster in an all-in preflop situation with A♣ Q♣ against the Aussie's A♠ 8♣ . Great finish for The Naing who put himself in a great starting position for tomorrow's day 2.

The Naing raised to 32,000 from the cutoff and Motoyoshi Okamura defended from the big blind to take it into the streets.

A flop showed 5♦ 2♣ A♦ , and Okamura checked the action to Naing, who then bet 28,000. Okamura called to see the Q♠ turn. The action went check-check.

The river brought a K♠ , where both players checked to a free showdown. Okamura quickly turned over a rivered pair of kings with K♥ 3♠ , and Naing tossed his cards into the muck.

The Naing opened the cutoff to 25,000 and Motoyoshi Okamura defended from the big blind.

Both saw a flop roll off J♦ 9♦ J♠ , bringing flush and straight draw possibilities, and Okamura checked the action to Naing, who bet 18,000. Okamura then put in a raise to 65,000, and this was enough to make his opponent concede the pot.

The action was picked up on the flop, showing 7♦ 5♣ 2♥ with around 48,000 chips in the middle as Phanlert Sukonthachartnant checked the action form the cutoff to The Naing on the button, who bet 16,000. Sukonthachartnant then shoved all in for 199,000. Naing dropped in a call.

Both players held king-seven, but Naing picked up a backdoor flush draw, leaving him a small chance to win the pot. The dry runout quickly filled out J♣ K♥ , making both players chop the pot.

The Naing limped in from the small blind and John Perry shoved all in from the big blind, which Naing snap-called.

The Naing: J♦ J♥

Naing picked up the lead with pocket jacks. A clean flop filled out 6♦ 2♠ 6♣ , and Perry was looking to spike a queen to win the pot. Swiftly, the dealer delivered a runout T♦ A♥ , showing the way out for Perry.

On the flop of 3♥ J♠ 5♠ , bringing flush possibilities, Sean Ooi from the big blind and The Naing from under the gun checked the action to Nevan Chang from the hijack, who bet 20,000. Only Ooi stuck around.

Both saw the K♠ fall on the turn, and the action went check-check.

A 2♠ dropped on the river, where Ooi bet 25,000. This was enough to force his opponent to muck the hand.

The Naing opened the cutoff to 10,000 and Nevan Chang called on the button, which Phuong Nguyen raised to 50,000 from the big blind. Naing then shoved all in, and only Nguyen called.

Naing picked up the lead with pocket aces. The flop filled out A♠ J♣ K♠ , improving Nguyen to two pair, which was still not enough to beat a dominating set of aces from Naing. The dealer swiftly delivered a runout of 2♥ 5♣ , busting Nguyen out of the table.

The Naing opened up the action from the early-position and Milos Skrbic in the small-blind raised to 21,000. Naing called and they were heads-up to a flop of J♣ 8♠ 4♦ . Both players checked and the turn brought the Q♠ . Skrbic put out a delayed continuation bet of 15,000 which Naing called.

On the 4♥ river Skrbic slowed down again, but after using one time bank, Naing put him all-in to which the Serbian player had to fold.

Phanlert Sukonthachartnant opened from early-position and The Naing defended his big-blind. The open-raiser continued with a bet on J♣ 5♦ 4♦ , but got check-raised to 20,000 by Naing. The Thai national called and also called a 30,000 bet on the 2♠ turn. Naing bet a third time on the 5♥ river for an amount of 50,000 chips, but Sukonthachartnant did not call, instead he went for a raise to 120,000 to which Naing folded.

Nevan Chang raised to 4,500 from under the gun and received two callers, Milos Skrbic on the button and The Naing from the big blind.

On the flop of 9♣ 3♣ 8♥ , bringing flush possibilities, and three players checked through to see a 4♠ fall on the turn, where Naing bet 5,500, which was enough to forced the other two players to muck their hands.
