The dealer flopped T♣ 5♦ J♠ . Although Blaschke was ahead, Stausholm had numerous outs with overcards and a straight draw making him then favorite. Turn was a 9♥ completing Stausholm's straight. And the inconsequnetial river 3♣ was dealt eliminating Blaschke out of the tournament.

Phuong Tan opened on the button and Manuel Blaschke next to him in the small-blind three-bet to 580,000. Tan made the call and the players saw a flop of K♥ Q♦ 5♠ . Both players checked and the turn brought the 2♠ . Blaschke bet out 395,000 which Tan called.

On the river appeared the inconspicuous 3♥ . Blaschke bet out 700,000, a huge chunk of his stack. Tan responded with a jam to which Blaschke had to fold. Tan proudly tabled his hand A♥ 4♥ for a runner-runner straight.

The action picked up with The Naing, at risk, going all-in for 1,300,000, and was called by Manuel Blaschke on a completed board.

Blaschke was already in the lead, and the flop of 6♦ T♥ K♣ gave him even more outs, leaving The Naing hoping for a hit on the turn or river to survive.

The turn 9♣ provided exactly what The Naing needed, giving him a pair of nines. The river A♠ improved his hand to two pair, and with that, he doubled up, staying in the hunt for the Bronze Lion.

The action picked up on a completed board of K♥ 4♣ J♥ T♦ 6♦ , with The Naing betting 250,000. After using a time bank, Manuel Blaschke shoved all-in for 1,220,000. The Naing quickly called.

Blaschke had rivered two pair, sixes and fours, while The Naing only held a pair of jacks from the flop. Blaschke’s hand held up, doubling him up.

Martin Stausholm opened for 100,000 and received a call from Manuel Blaschke in the big blind. The flop brought 2♥ J♥ 6♥ , and after Blaschke checked, Stausholm continued with a bet of 60,000. Blaschke responded with a raise to 190,000, which Stausholm called.

Both players checked the turn 7♥ . On the river T♦ , Blaschke led out for 170,000, but Stausholm responded by pushing 700,000 chips forward, leaving himself a few behind. Blaschke quickly folded and stood up as the break began.

Phuong Nguyen Tan raised in middle position raised to 130,000 to be three-bet by Manuel Blaschke immediately to his left to 250,000. Win Meng Tan needed to throw in a time bank to consider his action given the pot size. He eventually decided to four-bet to 390,000. Tan got out of the way but Blaschke made the call.

The flop dropped 9♦ 7♣ J♣ which Blascke check-raised all-in for 500,000 after Tan bet 100,000. Tan immediately mucked his hand.

After Chang checked, Blaschke continued with a 150,000 bet, which Chang called. The turn came 2♠ , and Chang checked again, prompting Blaschke to apply more pressure with a 175,000 bet. With 750,000 behind and the final table bubble close, Chang went into the tank before ultimately deciding to fold.

After sixteen 40-minute levels, Day 1 of the APT Phu Quoc VND 120,000,000 Super High Roller is in the books with 13 players remaining. A total of 55 entries (37 unique) were recorded at the Corona Theater, with numerous notable players generating a prize pool of VND 5,761,800,000 (~$226,840).

Naing maintained his momentum through the final level, capping off Day 1 perfectly by scooping a pot against Van Dong with turned trip queens, shortly after eliminating Dylan Foster with ace-queen.

The second-highest stack belongs to Denmark’s Martin Godsk Stausholm, the 2019 APT Manila High Roller Single Day champion, who surpassed the three-million milestone in total live earnings, accumulated impressive 2,340,000 chips to start Day 2.

Other notable players advancing to the Final Day include Mikael Andersson (920,000), Julian Warhurst (875,000), 2023 APT Incheon High Roller 8-Max champion Thanisorn Saelor (800,000), and Nevan Chang (245,000).

The Q♣ dropped on the river, where Tan checked again to his opponent, and Manuel fired out a barrel of 380,000, forcing Tan to fold.

After calling the continuation bet from Blaschke in the big-blind and no action on the turn, Zhongxian Li bet out 56,000 on J♦ T♠ 2♦ 4♠ 3♦ and took down the pot. With only two more levels to play both players have a good chance to make Day 2 of the Super High Roller.
