Action checked to Peng, who continued for 3,000 on the 5♣ 2♥ 3♥ flop. Kim called, Yoo folded, and then Wei moved all in for approximately 30,000 total. Peng and Kim laid their hands down in turn and Wei was awarded the pot.

All three players opted to check the 2♦ 3♦ 5♥ A♠ flop and turn, taking them to the 7♦ river.

Huang led for 3,800 and Kim immediately called, as did Wei.

Huang proudly turned over 2♠ 2♣ for a flopped set; Kim took a second before turning over K♥ 4♣ for a turned straight, and Wei could only muck his hand in shock.

Jungmin Yoo opened to 2,600 from under the gun and was called by Guangzhe Huang in the hijack. Jung Lin Po then moved all in for approximately 36,000 total from the cutoff and action folded back around to Yoo, who tossed in a call. Huang let his hand go and a showdown was held.

It was unfortunate timing for Po, who found himself in terrible shape with Big Slick against Yoo's aces.

It wasn't meant to be, however, as the J♣ filled out the board - leaving Yoo's rockets best to eliminate Po.

Zhao turned over Q♥ T♠ for rivered trips, seemingly good for the pot. After Kim had checked Zhao's hand, he tossed over Q♦ J♦, snatching the pot from Zhao and added a nice boost to his ever-growing stack.

On the J♣ A♥ 2♦ flop Evgenii check-called Zhao's 3,600 bet. Zhao fired another 6,000 on the 3♣ turn but Evgenii did not stick around.

The next hand saw Evgenii raise again to 1,700, this time from under the gun, and Zhao three-bet to 4,500 once more, with Evgenii calling.

The action went check-call on the 2♠ 9♦ 6♥ flop when Zhao fired 4,000. Cheng responded with a check-raise to 6,000, which got folds from everyone but James, who instead three-bet to 18,500.

Cheng pondered a bit, but eventually thought better of it and let his hand go - awarding the large pot to James without resistance.

APPT Makes Long-Awaited Return to Paradise City Incheon

Paradise City Incheon

Following a six year hiatus, the Asia Pacific Poker Tour has returned to Paradise City Incheon with a 12-day schedule that includes a variety No Limit Hold'em and Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments catering to a wide array of player preferences and buy-in levels.

While headlined by the KRW 1,000,000,000 (~USD 700,000) guaranteed Main Event, which begins on September 10, the festival gets underway today with Day 1a of the Paradise City Kickoff, featuring a KRW 600,000 (~USD 440) buy-in and a KRW 75,000,000 (~USD 55,000) guarantee.

The action begins at 11 a.m. local time, with players receiving 30,000 starting stacks. Levels will last 30 minutes, with Level 1 starting at 100/200 blinds with a 200 big blind ante. Late registration will remain open until the start of Level 11 at approximately 4:20 p.m.

Play will continue until the field is reduced to approximately 15% of the field, at which point all remaining players will bag up for Day 2 with a guaranteed spot in the money.

The second flight, Day 1b, gets underway at 4 p.m. with an identical structure. Players are permitted to enter both flights and, should a player qualify for Day 2 twice, only their larger qualifying stack will be carried forward. A min-cash will be awarded for the lesser stack, which will then be removed from play.

All players who earn a Day 2 berth will return on Friday, September 4 at 11 a.m. to play down to a winner.
