Tran Rivers Straight for Championship; Nehadeva Takes Runner-Up - $155,225

Level 30: 60,000 / 120,000 ante: 120,000
Tran Rivers Straight for Championship; Nehadeva Takes Runner-Up - $155,225

Heads-Up #27: Hai Ha Tran open-shoved all-in from the button and was called by Somashekar Kurkhepally Nahadeva, who was risking his tournament life for the championship.

Somashekar Kurkhepally Nahadeva: 7 7

Hai Ha Tran: J 7

Nehadeva, ahead and hoping for a double-up, was praying his pocket sevens would hold. He maintained his lead on the flop, which came T 5 8, but Tran gained more outs with a gut-shot straight draw. The 2 turn did nothing to change the situation, offering Nehadeva some relief.

However, his hopes were dashed as the 9 fell on the river, completing Tran's straight and crowning him the champion of the APPT Cambodia Main Event, while Nehadeva had to settle for the runner-up position.

Le Forced to Go All-in Finishes in 3rd - $85,300

Level 30: 60,000 / 120,000 ante: 120,000
Ngoc Minh Le - 3rd - $85,300

Extremely crippled in the last hand with only 20,000 behind after he placed the small blind in, Ngoc Minh Le was forced to go all-in. Hai Ha Tran, whose big blind automatically covered the all-in, went to a showdown, putting Tran's tournament life at risk.

Ngoc Minh Le: 8 5

Hai Ha Tran: K 6

The flop A 4 6 kept Tran's lead with a king-high. But the turn 5 gave Le a bit of hope for a double up. Unfortunately, the K fell on the river, giving Tran back the lead and eliminating Le in the process.

Tran's Aggressions Pays Off

Level 28: 40,000 / 80,000 ante: 80,000
Hai Ha Tran

Hai Ha Tran limped from the small blind, and Tran Minh Thang checked his option in the big blind. Tran led out with 80,000 on the 5 Q 5 flop, and Thang called.

The action picked up on the turn when Tran check-raised to 900,000 after Thang bet 220,000. Thang, not wanting to concede the pot, went into the tank—using two time bank cards to consider his options. Ultimately, he folded and surrendered the pot to Tran.

Ace-High Good Enough for Tran

Level 28: 40,000 / 80,000 ante: 80,000

After losing some chips to Ngoc Minh Le, from the big blind Hai Ha Tran quickly regained. Defending his big blind from Minh Thang's raise who continued for 150,000 on the 3 5 3 flop, Hai Ha check-called.

Both players checked down the runout of 8 6 . Minh Thang mucked his hand when Hai Ha tabled A J for ace-high.

Tran Cracks Wu's Kings for an elimination In 5th Place - $50,480

Level 28: 40,000 / 80,000 ante: 80,000
Yuanning Wu

Yuanning Wu opened to 160,000 from the cutoff and received a 460,000 three-bet from Hai Ha Tran in the small blind. Wu decided to go higher, raising to 1,000,000, which prompted an all-in reply from Tran. Wu called, putting himself at risk.

Yuanning Wu: K K

Hai Ha Tran: A K

With kings ahead, Wu hoped they would hold as the flop came J 2 Q. Holding his breath, Wu continued to watch, but Tran spiked an pair with his overcards on the A turn. The Q river didn’t help Wu, and he was eliminated in 5th place.
