The action is getting more tense at the PokerStars poker room at Okada Manila with the action of Day 2 at the APPT Manila Championship about to reach the bubble. 16 one-hour levels have been played so far and 75 players of 416 entries are still competing for a chance to take a chunk from the PHP 59,922,720 (~US$ 1,027,000) prize pool. 63 players will be guaranteed a payout, and there is still a lot of poker to go.

Australian John Edward Perry currently stands out as the chip leader from the 75 players that remain with 963,000 chips. Korean Kim Kiyoung has been consistent and ranks second with 700,000. Irishman Patrick Clarke holds the third spot with 630,000 so far.

Lee Sunghak min-raised to 8,000 from under the gun and then called the three-bet to 24,000 by Stevan Chew on the hi-jack. Both players are peeled a flop of Q♣ T♦ 9♦. Both players checked to see a free T♥ on the turn. Sunghak check-called Chew's 36,000 bet to lead to a J♠ river Sunghak checked, then couldn't match the 124,000 all-in shove by Chew.

Stevan Chew min-raised from under the gun and called the 6,000 three-bet from Seonghun Jeong at the hi-jack. Both players are given a flop of 8♣ 8♥ Q♥ . Chew check-calls the 4,500 bet of Jeong to see a 6♦ turn. Chew check-calls again for 11,000 to see an A♣ on the river. Chew check-raised the 11,000 bet of Jeong for all his chips and Jeong made the call with the last of his 25,000. Chew flipped over A♥ K♦ and Jeong just walked out without even showing his hand.

While a typhoon rages around Manila, the poker action at Okada Manila for Flight B of the APPT Manila Championship is also creating its own storm. 142 entries for Flight B have met the buy-in requirement of PHP 165,000 (~US$ 2,850) in order to compete for a share of the PHP 55,000,000 (~US$ 960,850) guaranteed prize pool. 108 players are still battling it out for a chance to advance to the Day 2 leg tomorrow.

Patrick Crivell sits with the biggest stack at 138,300 and is followed closely by Emmanuel Derecho with 138,000. Rounding up the top three is Marc Anthony Joseph with 136,500, but that's just a spit away for Seonghun Jeong with a near-identical 136,000.

Leading the Flight is Japan's Frd Aso Seitaro with a chip stack of 160,000. Not that far behind is Jian Hui Giam with 136,000 chips and Seonghun Jeong with 124,000.

Ajay Abrol made it 800 to play from the cutoff. Junsik Choi three-bet to 2,400 at the small blind. Stevan Chew turned the notch up to to 6,000 from the big blind. Abrol and Choi decided to fight another day. Chew took down a decent-sized pre-flop pot.
