Filipino pro Christopher "Big Time" Mateo makes a raise from the +1 position and gets re-raised by Kevin Hasler of Switzerland in the SB for 120,000. Mateo makes the call.

The flop is 9♥ 2♣ 3♣ as Hasler checks. Mateo declares he is all-in and Hasler calls for his remaining 250,000.

Mateo tables 7♠ 7♦ while the Swiss player shows A♠ K♥ . The last two community cards don't help Hasler as the 9♠ and the T♥ appear.

If it is any consolation to Hasler, he made the pay jump and his 22nd place finish nets him PhP470,000 (~US$8,045).

Mike Takayama of the Philippines open the action from the +1 position for 45,000 and gets a call from Switzerland's Kevin Hasler in the CO.

The flop comes Q♥ J♠ 2♣ . Takayama fires 45,000 again but gets aised all-in by Hasler for 185,000. The Filipino pro makes the call.

Hasler shows A♥ J♥ for middle pair while Takayama tables A♠ K♣ for two over cards to the board and a gutshot.

Takayama hits the K♦ on the turn and takes the lead, but the river card is the J♣ which keeps the Swiss player in the competition while Takayama is pretty much to where he started the day.

The 28 players remaining will reconvene on Saturday (October 26) at 12NN (UCT+8) and will play down to the Final 6 players.

Chen Zhen of China opens the action from UTG and gets calls from Switzerland's Kevin Hasler in the CO and Filipino pro Christopher Mateo in the BB.

The flop is 7♥ 7♠ 8♣ as Mateo checks. Chen leads out for 25,000 and gets called by both of his opponents. The turn is the A♦ . Mateo checks again and this time Chen also slows down. Hasler is the one who leads out this time, betting 55,000. Both his opponents make the call. The river is the 5♣ as everyone decides to check.

Hasler shows A♣ Q♣ for top pair on the turn. Mateo flips over A♥ 8♠ for two pairs on the turn. Chen mucks as Mateo takes more artillery away from two dangerous players.

The flop is 8♣ Q♦ 9♦ as both players check. The turn is the 3♣ as Hasler leads out for 30,000 and is called by Ngo. The river is the 6♦. Hasler checks and much to his dismay, Ngo checks behind as the Swiss player flips over A♦ T♦ for the nut flush and Ngo shows 7♠ 7♣.

Wooseok Kim min-raised to 5,000 from the button and Kevin Hasler defended from the big blind. Both players were thrown a flop of T♣ K♠ 2♣. Hasler check-called the 5,000 c-bet from Kim to see a 2♦ on the turn. Hasler checked his option again while Kim fired another 7,500. Hasler peeked at his hole cards then said goodbye to them to the muck.

After the storm in the city subsided, so did the action settle down at Okada Manila where Flight B of the APPT Manila Championship concluded for the day. 194 entries made the buy-in of PHP 165,000 (~US$ 2,850) to compete for their share of the PHP 55,000,000 (~US$ 960,850) guaranteed prize pool. 80 players were still on their seats to bag their chips at the end of 11 levels and nearly 12 hours of poker. Those 80 players will be back tomorrow to compete again in the Day 2 leg and will be joined by the 59 players who advanced from Flight A.

Among the 80 survivors of Flight B, it was Kim Youngkim of South Korea who bagged the largest stack with 452,500 chips. Moses Saquing of the Philippines was at a distant second with a very healthy 295,000. Rounding up the top three chip leaders is American John Joseph Panish who bagged 277,500 to carry onto Day 2.

Despite the stormy weather, 166 poker hopefuls at Okada Manila still made the PHP 165,000 (~US$ 2,850) buy-in to participate in Flight B of the APPT Manila Champion, which is guaranteeing a prize pool of at least PHP 55,000,000 (~US$ 960,850). 112 survivors still remain and will play until the end of Level 11 where those still with chips get to bring them over for the Day 2 leg tomorrow.

Yan Li of China holds the biggest stack so far with 208,500 chips. Sanjeev Kapoor has the next big stack with 181,000 while Patrick Crivell rounds up the top three with 172,000.

Kevin Hasler min-raised from under the gun and called the 6,500 re-raise of Ganbold Battulga from the hi-jack along with the player from UTG+2. Three players saw a flop of Q♦ J♥ T♦. Action was checked to Battulga, who c-bet 4,700. Only Hasler made the call to see a 3♠ on the turn. Hsler led out for 11,500 with Battulga making the call to see a T♥ on the river. Both players check. Hasler opened his cards to show Q♠ T♠ for a queen boat and Battulga threw his cards to the muck.
