APPT Manila Championship (165,000 PHP)

Despite the stormy weather, 166 poker hopefuls at Okada Manila still made the PHP 165,000 (~US$ 2,850) buy-in to participate in Flight B of the APPT Manila Champion, which is guaranteeing a prize pool of at least PHP 55,000,000 (~US$ 960,850). 112 survivors still remain and will play until the end of Level 11 where those still with chips get to bring them over for the Day 2 leg tomorrow.

Yan Li of China holds the biggest stack so far with 208,500 chips. Sanjeev Kapoor has the next big stack with 181,000 while Patrick Crivell rounds up the top three with 172,000.

Emmanuel Derecho raised to 1,500 from under the gun and got Yohwan Lim to call from the cut-off along with Hirotoshi Nakabo from the small blind. All three players were treated to a flop of 6♥ 8♦ 4♠ . The action was checked to Yohwan Lim, who fired out 1,700 and was re-raised by Nakabo to 3,800. Derecho stepped away from the fight, but Lim stuck around to see a K♥ on the turn. Nakabo bet out 4,500. Lim tanked and then raised to 15,500. Nakabo made the call which led to a 3♣ on the river. Nakabo checked his option and Lim fired 20,500. Nakabo thought a moment and then mucked the hand.

Takami Odani raised to 1,000 from UTG +1 then called the 3,500 three-bet from Emmanuel Derecho on the button. Both players saw a flop of T♣ K♦ 4♠. Odani check-called the 2,500 bet of Derecho to see the 4♣ turn. This time Odani check-folded when Derecho fired 6,500.

Pre-flop action was folded to the blinds. Small blind Ionut Stochita limped then called the 1,500 raise of Emmanuel Derecho from the big blind. Both players saw a flop of A♣ 4♠ 6♥. Stochita check-called the 1200 bet of Derecho to see a 6♠ on the turn. Both players checked to see an A♥ river. Both players checked again. Derecho displayed A♠ 4♣ for a full-house while Stochita mucked.

Brett Bader raised to 700 from UTG and Emmanuel Derecho pumped it to 2,400 from two seats over and got Sanjeev Kapoor making the call from the hi-jack along with Bader. The three get peeled a flop of T♣ K♠ 6♠ and check it down to open a 3♠ on the turn. Bader then led out with 2,000 with Derecho surrendering. Kapoor made a three-bet to 6,500 and Bader took a moment to reflect before finally folding.
