APPT National ($900)

The APPT National wrapped up Day 2 with the Final 9 players determined in just 7 hours of play. Bagging up the biggest was Hyeonsik Yun with 52 bb. Yun is the only representative left from Korea hoping to lift the title and the US$ 44,350 top prize. Yun catapulted to join the leaders after eliminating Bruno Moyse with A♦ A♠ dominating K♦ Q♦ .

Trailing the leader by a small margin was Francisco Sanchez with 49 bb. Sanchez earned a good chunk of his chips by cleaning out Quan Qiu with K♥ K♦ against J♦ 9♦ .

Other players earning their spot in the final lineup were Adrien Berger, Michael Kim Falcon, Hironori Yamada who is on his second final table having done the same at the NagaWorld Kick Off, Jeorge Lagatus, Ron Tate, Ihor Yerofieiev, and Oliver Schulze.

Another blind battle goes to showdown with Rahden shoving A♥ T♠ from SB for 315,000 and Yamada calling 8♦ 8♠ from big. The cards run J♠ 7♥ 6♦ 8♣ 3♣ , eliminating Rahden and making the final table complete.

Leaving his foot on the gas, Hyeonsik Yun opens 65,000 from the button and takes Falcon along to the flop 3♠ 5♥ J♠ . Falcon leads 60,000 out of position, gets called and we see the A♣ . The same pattern on the turn reveals the river K♦ and a 150,000 lead from Falcon gets countered by a raise to 450,000 by Hyeonsik. Falcon lets it go and Hyeonsik picks up another juicy pot with the final table bubble looming.

Oliver Schulze lays out 65,000 from the button to get called by Hyeonsik Yun in SB. The flop 7♠ 5♥ A♠ has Schulze continue in position with 45,000 and Hyeonsik pays to see the turn A♦ , which shuts down the action for a free 6♦ on the river. Hyeonsik takes it down with a 75,000 lead.

Quan Qiu min-opens from CO and Francisco Sanchez decides to call from the SB. Heads up to the flop T♣ 8♠ 4♦ with Quan picking up the action making it 50,000. Check-raise to 125,000 by Sanchez, Quan jams 525,000 with J♦ 9♦ and Sanchez pays with K♦ K♥ . Eight outs and a dream are denied by the dealer, showing T♠ 9♣ and sending Quan home.

Bruno oyse is all-in from the button with 90,000 , Adrien Berger calls from BB and Moyse needs some help with J♦ 9♣ against Berger's K♦ 8♣ . The board comes A♦ 7♣ T♦ 7♠ 9♠ and Moyse stays in the tournament.

Adrien Berger min raises to 50,000 from CO, Hyeonsik Yun shoves 290,000 from SB, snapped by Berger with K♦ K♥ versus Hyeonsik's T♣ T♠ .

Early Christmas and a double up for Hyeonsik with the board running 4♦ A♦ T♥ A♥ J♥ .

After losing the last pot, Jeorge Lagatuz looks at A♥ Q♦ and limps his small blind. David Anstice shoves 340,000 with A♦ 4♣ from BB, snap call by Lagatuz and the dealer flips over 3♦ 8♥ Q♣ 6♥ 3♥ . Lagatuz dominates throughout to ship a double.

Ihor Yerofieiev goes all-in for 320,000 with K♠ 4♠ , gets called by Jeorge Lagatuz after he sends a time bank the dealers way and shows J♥ T♥ .

No help for Lagatuz on 4♣ Q♦ 3♠ 2♣ A♥ and Ihor starts organizing his newly acquired 675,000.

Frank Lillis looks at A♣ K♦ in +2, jams his last 145,000 and isn't happy when Adrien Berger calls and flips over K♥ K♣ from HJ. The dealer has no help in store for Lillis with the board running 3♠ 5♠ Q♦ J♠ 7♣ and hands the pot over to Berger.

Frank Lillis shoves 345,000 with 2♠ 2♥ from the button and gets called by Oliver Schulze with K♦ Q♣ and his remaining 200,000 from BB. The dealer shows 5♣ Q♠ T♦ 6♦ 4♥ giving Schulze top pair and a 430,000 pot along with it.

Bruno Moyse opens to 50,000 from CO, call by Adrien Berger in BB and they check it to the river Q♠ J♣ 3♦ 7♠ 7♥ . Berger forks out 100,000, putting Moyse deep in the tank. After two time banks and a call Moyse throws his cards in the muck on seeing Berger's Q♣ 7♣ full house.

Michael Falcon continues his aggression with a raise to 55,000 from the SB. Last to act Frank Lillis fills up his BB and we see 8♥ K♦ 7♦ . Falcon's 60,000 c-bet gets called, we see the 4♥ and Falcon's 105,000 bet gets called again for the river T♠ and another 200,000 bet from Falcon. Lillis folds and hands a chunky pot over to the chipleader.

Oliver Schulze opens 40,000 from +2, Michael Falcon calls and both players elect to check on 8♥ 5♠ J♥ , giving us the turn J♠ . Falcon leads 50,000, Schulze calls and the river is the Q♥ . Falcon leads 50,000 again, pumped up to 150,000 by Schulze and Falcon calls with top pair Q♣ 2♣ which is ahead of Schulze's 3♦ 3♥ .

Quan Qiu in the small blind puts all the chips in front, putting BB Jeorge Lagatuz all-in, who calls for his remaining 265,000 and flips over A♦ 8♦ with Qiu showing K♠ 9♥ . The board runs A♠ 8♥ K♣ 2♥ 6♦ , giving Lagatuz two pair and a double up.

Berger opens 32,000 from the button, gets called by Hyeonsik Yun and we see the flop 6♦ 2♦ Q♥ . Adrien Berger continues for 20,000 gets called and the turn is the A♥ . Berger bets 70,000 and Yun hands his cards to the dealer.

Takuya Shimabukuro shoves 138,000 from CO and gets called by Oliver Schulze in the SB. Shimabukuro has A♠ 6♠ and is behind Schulze's A♣ 9♣ . With the board running 2♣ J♦ 3♣ 4♦ Q♥ , it's the end of the road for Shimabukuro.

David Anstice opens 24,000 from UTG, Aladin Reskallah announces his all-in for 250,000 from SB and gets called by Anstice. Reskallah turns over A♥ Q♥ and is flipping against Anstice's T♦ T♠ . The board 2♠ 2♦ 9♥ 5♣ 3♥ brings no help to the big cards to end Reskallah's run.

Ihor Yerofieiev three-bet shoves A♠ K♥ from the BB against Reskallah's 80,000 open, who throws in his last 48,000 and shows K♠ 8♠ .

The board comes 8♥ 6♠ Q♠ J♣ 5♣ , giving Reskallah a pair and a double up.

Goyal Abhishek starts the action with 25,000 from +1 and Ronnie Tate calls from the BB. Flop comes A♣ 6♣ 7♦ , Abhishek continues 45,000 and Tate calls to see the turn T♦ . Tate takes the lead with a 55,000 bet, Abhishek calls and the dealer reveals the 3♠ on the river. Tate leads with another 50,000, gets called and shows A♥ Q♥ . Abhishek mucks.

Small blind Hironori Yamada puts 500,000 in the middle and Kotaro Tanaka calls with his remaining 101,000 from the BB

Takayama goes all-in on the 7♥ with Shimabukoro putting the rest of his stack in the middle and showing A♦ 2♥ . Takayama flips over A♠ 9♠ , the river 3♣ doesn't change anything and Shimabukuro bags 380,000.

After a raise to 25,000 from Jeorge Lagatuz and a call from Michael Falcon in the BB we see the flop 9♦ 4♥ J♦ . Lagatuz shoves for 150,000 and Falcon calls. With the board running 6♥ 4♠ , Lagatuz' J♣ T♥ beats Falcon's 2♠ 9♣ .

Valeriy Fokin shoves his remaing 35,000 from +1 with button Sunghak Lee and big blind Frank Lillis electing to see the flop. Both check on 9♥ 8♥ Q♠ and Lillis leads the turn 6♣ for 35,000 with Lee calling. The river is the 4♥ , Lillis leads for 60,000 and Lee throws in the towel. Lillis flips over Q♥ 9♦ , eliminating Fokin's K♠ 9♣ .

Bruno Moyse starts the action from +2, making it 25,000. Anton Poliakov from the BB calls and we see the flop Q♥ 4♠ K♥ . Poliakov check-calls 35,000 and the turn is the 2♠ . Check-calling again, this time for all his chips, Poliakov flips over Q♣ 6♠ and stands up after seeing Moyse's 4♦ 4♥ . The Q♠ on the river is not enough and Poliakov is out.

First to act Valeriy Fokin opens 20,000 and finds two callers in Hyeonsik Yun from HJ and Aladin Reskallah from the BB. Fokin continues 35,000 on J♠ T♥ 5♦ with only Yun electing to call. The turn 9♣ has Fokin fire another 42,000 only to be met by Yun's all-in for 110,000 after using a time bank. Tanking himself, Fokin ends up folding, also handing over a time bank.

Anton Poliakov opens 20,000 from CO, Bruno Moyse shoves for 146,000 and Poliakov calls. The board runs 4♥ J♥ 8♠ 6♥ 6♣ and Moyse doubles up with 5♦ 5♠ against Poliakov's 3♥ 3♠ .

Haile Rafik Kuo picks up T♠ T♥ in the HJ and doesn't lose much time to go all-in for 150,000. Quan Qiu wakes up with A♠ A♦ in the SB and eliminates Kuo after the board runs 5♠ 2♦ 5♦ A♣ T♣ .

A three-bet shove from David Anstice in the SB sees Wipat Udomkanjananan put in the rest of his chips to show K♣ K♥ . Anstice tables A♥ Q♦ and finds help with the board running 8♣ A♣ 6♠ 7♣ J♦ .

Francisco Sanchez opens 27,000 from the SB and Ihor Yerofieiev fills up. The flop comes T♦ 2♣ T♥ , Sanchez continues 21,000 answered by a call. The Q♠ makes Yerofieiev lead 40,000 and Sanchez check-calls to see river 8♥ . After checking again and facing Yerofieiev's all-in for 243,000 , Sanchez goes in the tank, but ends up folding, losing one time-bank in the process.

Harmer open shoves 66,000 from utg and gets called by Anstice in SB.

Call and a fold from Zebib against Takayama's allin on the 3♣ river. Blokhin out with K♥ 4♣ against Takayama's Q♥ J♥ full house.

Vezhenkov puts his last 28,000 in the middle, over-shove by Anton Poliakov in SB and a call for 78,000 by big blind Sunghak Lee.

Kim adds some more to make it 100,000, Tay is out and Falcon calls. Falcon check-shoves the J♣ turn and Kim puts everything on the line with A♦ A♠ . Falcon has Q♣ 8♠ two pair, the 9♦ river doesn't change anything and Kim just misses the payouts.

The pot came to 294,000 after a five-bet shove preflop for Hironori Yamada with K♥ K♦ called by Zinan Xu with A♦ K♠ . The flop 9♠ 7♦ 3♣ 6♠ 2♦ is no help for Xu.

In the next hand Michael Falcon continues his aggression with another 13,000 open from UTG and Donghyup Kim in the HJ, and Da De Titus Tay on the button call. The flop J♣ 6♠ 8♣ is only good enough for Kim to continue versus Falcon's 15,000 c-bet and we go to the turn 7♦ heads up. Falcon check-raises 80,000 to Kim's 35,000 bet, but elects to fold when Kim goes all-in.

Thomas Leslie shoves 121,000 from BB vs Falcon's utg+1 raise, gets called and the board runs J♥ Q♦ 9♥ 2♠ 6♦ . Leslie's 4♦ 8♣ is not enough against Falcon's A♦ J♠ and he is out in 41st, taking us to the bubble round.

Bruno Moyse finds himself min-opening another hand from CO with Michael Falcon D, and Jia Yi Lau BB both calling. Lau puts her last 20,000 in the middle on a flop 9♣ T♥ Q♠, called twice and we see the 5♠ . Check-call 35,000 from Moyse and a check fold on the 6♠ versus Falcon's 55,000 . The 7♠ 8♠ flush for Falcon is enough to eliminate Lau with Q♦ T♦ .

Zarghami open shoves 87,000 from CO with 7♦ 7♠ but gets bad news when Tanaka calls and flips over K♠ K♥ . The board runs 5♣ Q♥ 6♥ 8♥ 4♥ , flush over straight and Emad Zarghami is out.

Lagatuz opens 12,000 from the button, Michael Falcon calls from BB with both players checking on K♦ T♣ 9♠ . Falcon leads on T♠ and K♥ with Lagatuz calling him down to see his Q♠ 8♠ win the 110,000 pot against Falcons J♠ 4♥ .

Utg Chin Heng Tan min-opens with Zinan Xu calling from the BB. Tan continues for 10,000 on 5♥ 2♥ T♣ and 15,000 on the turn 8♣ with Xu check-calling both times. Xu leads 18,000 on the A♥ river, Tan calls, but his T♠ is not enough against Xu's A♠ 5♦ .

Bruno Moyse opens 12,000 from the button with Falcon and Reskallah filling up their blinds. The flop 7♠ 9♥ 6♠ has Falcon check-raise 40,000 against Moyse's 18,000 bet-call. Falcon takes it down with a 57,000 lead on the turn 7♥ .

Frank Lillis opens 10,000 from the HJ, Chin Heng Tan calls from SB, followed by a 78,000 shove from Jean Guillette in the BB. Lillis' 121,000 over shove is enough to isolate and his J♠ J♥ is ahead of Guillette's A♣ J♦ . The board Q♦ K♦ 6♠ 6♣ 5♥ does not see Guillette improve with Lillis doubling up.

Da De Titus Tay opens 10,000 from UTG+1 with Anton Poliakov calling from the SB. The flop 3♥ J♠ 3♠ has Titus Tay bet-calling Poliakov's 35,000 raise. A♣ on the turn with Poliakov leading 40,000 and a call by Titus Tay reaveals the 8♦ river with Poliakov shoving and a quick call. A♠ J♥ for Titus Tay takes down a 348,000 pot against Poliakovs missed flush draw 9♠ 5♠ .

Open shove from Jeorge Lagatuz 6♣ 6♥ and a call from Aladin Reskallah with A♠ Q♠ for a flip. The board comes 6♦ 6♠ 2♦ 5♣ 8♥ for a dramatic quads to the winner.

Day 2 of the APPT National has officially started, continuing the action at level 16 with 56/278 players remaining.

The first key event of the APPT Cambodia concluded with a total of 278 entries turning up for the APPT National. Today, 56 players return to NagaWorld Integrated Resorts in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, each one hunting down a coveted spot in the money round with only 39 players guaranteed a piece of the US$ 218,425 prize pool. While the minimum payout is US$ 1,480, awaiting the champion is a juicy US$ 44,680.

When play resumes, Flight A chip leader Hyeonsik Yun leads the way with 480,000 (96 bb) and trailed closely by Flight B leader Anton Poliakov with 457,000 (91 bb). This is Poliakov's second time to top heat having done the same at the kick off event eventually placing 8th. Another strong contender is Michael Kim Falcon who bagged the biggest at Flight C.

Down the leaderboard, players in the field that will be closely watched as well are Aladin Reskallah who won the Warm Up High Roller, Yannick Leonard (who is celebrating a birthday today), Quan Qiu, Adrien Berger, and filipino aces Mike Takayama and Martin Gonzales.
