South Koreans Sweep the Top in Day 1B

Level 19: 5,000 / 10,000 ante: 10,000
Seok Young Lee

The second APL Taipei Main Event heat on schedule has rung its curtains close with only 12 survivors out of its 78-entry field moving on to the next round. South Korean contenders dominated the evening flight, claiming the top three spots on the chip count leaderboard.

Yeh Chih Ying Triples Up

Level 18: 4,000 / 8,000 ante: 8,000
Yeh Chih Ying

Up against an open and a call, Yeh Chih Ying squeezed all-in on the small blind for his remaining 62,000, and was followed with another shove from utg raiser Chi Ting Chieh. Donghyun Lim put in the final call, risking his entire 282,000 for a three way showdown.

The board ran out A T 8 Q J, and once the dust settled, Yeh’s pocket kings held strong to scoop the main pot with a broadway straight. Lim on the other hand picked up the side pot, while Chi was left crippled down to just six big blinds to bust the very next hand.
