Welcome to the grandest live poker festival ever to be held in Da Nang, Vietnam, the season finale of U Series of Poker (USOP)! Making its debut in this gorgeous coastal destination, USOP Danang features 53 trophies and a lucrative VN₫ 50 Billion (~$2 Million) in guarantees. All the action takes place beachside at the Furama Resort Danang Convention Center starting today November 17 until November 27, 2023.
Since the announcement of this festival, players have been eagerly anticipating this moment, and the initial experience has certainly lived up to the excitement. Da Nang offers a laid-back atmosphere, with the waves of the East Vietnam Sea crashing just outside, providing a stunning backdrop and a welcome change from the bustling city stops.
Stepping into the venue, players are greeted with a visual feast, a grand hall filled with 41 custom made USOP tables with the capacity to expand to 55 tables. Players will also notice custom USOP poker chips in play for the first time.
Along the left side wall are banners commemorating USOP Main Event and High Roller champions. On center stage is a big screen measuring 3.7 meters by 4.5 meters and a livestream table to watch some of the best poker showdowns.
The first to be livestreamed is the High Roller Warm Up with commentator Noel Zarate delivering the blow-by-blow action. Stay tuned for that. It will run later this evening. At this time, the event is still in the late registration stage.
Glancing around the room, many notable players are already slugging it out at the tables such as Vishal Ojha (USOP Hanoi Main Event champion), Yita Choong (APT Live – TLPT champion), Hoang Hai Nam (USOP multi-HR champion), Australian pro John Perry, Singaporean pro Jun Hao Wu, Korean pros Yo Hwan “BoxeR” Lim, Nam Hyung Kim, and Bluff and Catch Team Pro Seung Mook Jung. The French team Cimitarra Poker are also in full force, attending the USOP for the first time.
As the brand’s last event for the calendar season, it is clear that there is no holding back. 53 trophies are on the mantle, one for each of the 53 tournament titles up for grabs. This is the brand’s largest offering along with a huge VN₫ 50 Billion (~$2 Million) in guarantees.
The most coveted is the USOP Main Event trophy which stands tall, plated with 18K gold from base to tip and 925 silver. Only three players have captured this glorious prize.
For the finale, the Main Event guarantee has been increased to VN₫ 15 Billion (~$618K). It runs from November 23 to 27 with four starting days scheduled. Buy in is VN₫ 25 Million (~$1,030). Anticipation is high as the brand aims to surpass its incredible performance in Hanoi where it set a Main Event record prize pool of VN₫ 29,158,200,000 (~$1,212,000).
