APT Vietnam coming up in early November

The Asian Poker Tour continues to bring players in the region plenty of poker as the brand heads to Ho Chi Minh City early next month. APT Vietnam is the tour’s tenth event of the year running from November 6 to 17 at the Pro Poker Club. For the past two years, this has become a preferred destination both by the brand and by players and is definitely one to mark on your calendars.

As always, two events are featured, Main Event and Championships Event, with a combined guarantee worth VN₫ 14 Billion (~US$ 606,000). There are also 23 side events to tackle with buy ins from VN₫ 5,500,000 (~US$ 240) to 107,500,000 (~US$ 4,700). As a reminder, all games utilize the Ante BB format and the Shot Clock.

Here’s a rundown of what to expect at the series.

Main Event – VN₫ 8 Billion guaranteed (~US$ 345,700)

The event that brings everyone to the tables is none other than the APT Main Event. This is the tour’s top of the line tournament and it comes with an VN₫ 8,000,000,000 guarantee. One of the biggest draws is its deep structure allowing for plenty of playing time. 2019 has seen a significant rise in the prize pool in Vietnam, spilling over US$ 480K. To keep the payouts competitive, the APT Main Event pays out top ten percent of the field. At the start of the year, champion Abhinav iyer pocketed quite a sizable US$ 97,000.

Back to back with the main is the Championships Event, and this too boasts of a deep structure worth every dime. The event runs from November 13 to 17. For VN₫ 38,500,000 (~US$ 1,700) buy in, players have a chance at the advertised VN₫ 6,000,000,000 guarantee. This event also pays out the top 10 percent.

Whether you plan to stay for one day or for the entire stretch, APT Vietnam aims to fill every player’s poker needs. Running alongside the highlighted events are 23 poker games for every type of player. Event buy ins range from VN₫ 5,500,000 (~US$ 240) to 107,500,000 (~US$ 4,700). Some run for one day, others run for two. The costlier games are of course the High Rollers with seven lined up.
