APT returns to Korea in August with KRW 400M guaranteed in tow

The Asian Poker Tour is getting ready to host its seventh leg of the calendar year. Coming up fast is APT Korea Incheon 2019 taking place at Paradise City Casino from August 2 to 13. Unlike the tour’s previous visits to Incheon, this installment will be bigger than ever with 24 exciting games lined up and KR₩ 400 Million (~US$ 340,000) in guaranteed prizes.

Through the years, the APT has continuously provided international caliber live poker tournaments for players around the region. It is the longest-running live tour based in Asia and considerably the busiest with their 2019 calendar season boasting of 11 festivals. In their quest to help improve the game, the APT utilizes the Ante BB format and Shot Clock for all the games.

For the upcoming APT Korea Incheon, two events highlight the series: the Main Event and the Championships Event. These are the APT’s highly revered deep-stacked tournaments, and are the events everyone aims to win.

The events run back to back, five days each, with each one extending a KR₩ 200 Million (~US$ 170,000) guarantee.

Featured events

Main Event – KR₩ 200 Million guarantee

Date: Sunday, August 4 to Thursday August 8
Buy-in: KR₩ 1,320,000 (~US$ 1,200)
Registration: Day 1A, Day 1B, first hour of Day 2

Championships Event – KR₩ 200 Million guarantee

Date: Friday, August 9 to Tuesday, August 13
Buy-in: KR₩ 1,980,000 (~US$ 1,700)
Registration: Day 1A, Day 1B, first hour of Day 2

Side Events

Running alongside the featured events are 22 APT signature side events. Regular games range from buy-ins KR₩ 220,000 (~US$ 190) to KR₩ 660,000 (~US$ 560). Among the events scheduled are Monster Stacks, a variety of NLH single and two-day, Pot Limit Omaha, Short Deck, and Turbos.

High Rollers events

For the growing number of high rollers today, there are 7 events to tickle your fancy. Buy-ins range from KR₩ 2,150,000 (~US$ 1,800) to KR₩ 5,300,000 (~US$ 4,500).
