APL Poker – Clash of Leagues Series: Philippines’ Adrick Aznar Ships $100K GTD Main Event; Pokerlife Tops Club Leaderboard

Taking part of the current online poker surge, Asia Poker League (APL) recently concluded its biggest event to date. The Clash of Leagues series held last May 7-11, 2020 on the APL Poker application, showcased a multi-day Main Event featuring a 100 Million Gold (~USD 100,000) guaranteed prize pool and an additional over USD 50,000 in combined prize winnings. A total of 11 events were lined up to run throughout the 5-day duration with the 13 Million Gold (~USD 13,000) Super High Roller event scheduled last to conclude the awaited series.

Enticing as many players as they could, the six-figure guaranteed Main Event ran three Day 1 flights to garner a total of 1,170 entries. With each posting a buy-in of 55,000 Gold (~USD 55), the recorded number of players was just enough to push the prize pool over its initial guarantee. It was on the 10th when Filipino Adrick Aznar emerged victorious among the field of eager players, claiming the Main Event title as well as an APL official trophy.

Joining Aznar in the list of winners are the following players:

As the APL brand was built around its partnership among local poker affiliates in the Asia Pacific region, a club leaderboard for the series was tallied to award the winning community with the most cashes.

Raking a total of close to seven million points, APL’s own community site Pokerlife won by a landslide ranking first in the competitive leaderboard. Second in running was Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP) receiving an additional prize of USD 1,000 with Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP) following soon after for USD 600 and lastly, Singapore Poker League (SPL) for USD 400.
