Another international poker tour has landed on the streets of Manila, Philippines with the country’s strong fan base and easy accessibility making it a prime location for major brands in the scene. This time Ace Poker League is snatching the spotlight with its Manila leg running through Sunday, December 3rd at 2Ace Poker, Pasay city for seven days of whirlwind action. The series sets off to complete a total of twelve events boasting a combined festival guarantee of over PHP 25,000,000 (~USD 451,150).
Today’s events sees APL Tip Off Flight C on top of the list, followed by Event #2: Single Day NLH at 2:00 p.m., and Event #3: Pot Limit Omaha Hi at 6:00 p.m. For those eyeing to jump in the PHP 20,000,000 (~USD 360,920) guaranteed Main Event, Day 1A kicks off tomorrow for a buy-in of PHP 60,000 (~USD 1,080) with three more flights to follow thereafter.
APL Tip Off Update
Having kicked off just yesterday, the opening event APL Tip Off completed two out of three available flights on schedule and welcomed a total of 154 entries vying for the PHP 2,000,000 (~USD 36,090) pot. Local runner Jay Ibarra has since bagged the biggest stack moving forward with a healthy chip count of 349,000 and serves as Flight A’s chip leader. Korea’s Lee Dong Ho comes in close second with a slightly lesser 341,500 after topping Flight B’s 105 entry field.
For a buy-in of PHP 10,500 (~USD 190), players have only today, November 28 as their last chance to secure a spot into the Final Day. The guarantee has since been breached as of Level 3 of the final flight.

As a prelude to the festival, Ace Poker Manila hosted two pre-event flights last weekend for the headlining Main Event. Charging the least expensive buy-in of PHP 30,000 (~USD 540), only three tournament runners survived the field and were able to qualify to Day 2.
