USOP: Poker2U Taiwan Series: MAIN EVENT starts today @1pm; 李書吟, 王淨加, Chris Chen win trophies

 

After five days of games, the U Series of Poker: Poker2U Taiwan Series underway at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club) in Taipei City opens with the MAIN EVENT! The star of the festival is highlighted by its TWD 10,000,000 (~$330,000) guaranteed prize pool. The event runs from February 15 to 19 with four chances to qualify for Day 2. Everything you need to know about the MAIN EVENT

Wanna get your hands on that gold and silver plated trophy? Today’s qualifier lights up at 1pm. Buy in is TWD 20,000 (~$660).  This is the most affordable international event staged in Taiwan. For players that register, pay, and have their chips in play by the first shuffle, will automatically be eligible for Bubble Protection.

Players begin with a full 30,000 (300x opening round blinds). Blinds increase every 40 minutes. Registration closes at the start of Level 10. From there, remaining players continue until the money is reached / 12.5% of the field.

Shuin Li 李書吟 is the first USOP: Poker2U Taiwan Series Ladies Event champion! As the shortest stack at three handed, Shuin Li 李書吟 caught a lucky set with pocket Eights to survive and double through Maggie Chien Chih Weng 翁芊智 pocket Jacks. Li 李書吟 got lucky again against Weng 翁芊智 with Qs7h landing trips Sevens on a board running 10c7dKc7s2d to dust 8d8s.

Facing Billy Pi Ying Hsu  許必穎 at heads up, Li 李書吟 called Hsu’s 許必穎 shove on a flop Jd7d10s with Jc3d top pair. Hsu 許必穎 had 8d3h gutshot that failed to come on the turn 7c and river 6s.

Chris Chen finally accomplished what he couldn’t at yesterday’s Bounty Hunter event when he finished 2nd to Cheng Chieh Wang 黃政傑. Chen outlasted a field of 60 entries at the 7-Max Shot Clock to pocket a cool TWD 339,500 (~$11,190).
