APPT Cambodia Main Event draws 476 entries for $623K prize pool; 133 return led by Day 1B leader Vishal Ojha; 71 to ITM

Smashing day at the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) as players from around the world descended upon NagaWorld Phnom Penh in Cambodia for a chance at the Main Event title and a piece of the US$ 400K guarantee. As the three flights wrapped up, the guarantee was crushed with a total of 476 entries for an impressive prize pool of US$ 623,322. This was nearly 100 entries more than its inaugural run last year.

Joining the 41 qualifiers of Day 1A were another 92 players for a combined 133 players into Day 2. Alexander Puchalski, the reigning APPT Cambodia champion, was in the list with a healthy 25 bb stack, WSOP bracelet holder as well, Guoliang Wei, with a much larger 67 bb stack. Outranking them both was Day 1B chip leader Vishal Ojha who pocketed a large 136 bb stack.

Day 2 of the APPT Main Event is scheduled to begin on Sunday, May 14 at 1pm, and it will likely be a long one with blinds increasing at a slower 60 minute pace. The money bubble will burst at 72nd place, and once it does, the remaining players are guaranteed a minimum payout of US$ 2,369.  The eventual champion is slated to bank a hefty US$ 120,300. Day 2 will bag up once the final 9 players is formed.
