[Video] India Poker Championship: A look at the Indian Poker Scene

Since it's arrival, the India Poker Championship has become a more frequent event, a more popular event, and a more lucrative one, as prize pools rise. The event having been running since early 2010 provides a reasonably accurate reflection of where poker in India is in terms of popularity. A video series series tracing  the evolution of the Indian Poker Scene and the IPC has just been released.

The first video offers an intriguing insight into the flourishing game of poker, within India, from the perspectives of the players who are at the heart of it. From exploring each player's first taste of the game, to examining the tide of legal acceptance and player enthusiasm, which is expected to continue.

In the second video, the author is taking a closer look at the growing tournament numbers which provide a strong reflection of poker opinions on a national level. From small beginnings at the inaugural IPC in 2010, the series is now gathering momentum, and seeing ever rising participation numbers each year.

The third and final video looks more closely at the poker ecology in India, and how people with an interest in statistics and strategy are taking the game to their hearts. The growing female involvement in Indian poker is also an exciting prospect, and is a trend that most would love to see replicated worldwide.
