Record-Breaking Turnout at World Poker Tour Prime Vietnam Main Event; 1,151 entries, over 1M USD prize pool

In a momentous occasion for the World Poker Tour (WPT) and live poker events in Asia, the second-ever WPT Prime stop in Vietnam shattered records at the Crown Poker Club. Over the course of three thrilling starting days, the Main Event drew 1,151 entries with Day 1C alone pulling in an astonishing 525 entries. This was the biggest WPT Main Event turnout in the region and the second largest WPT Prime Main Event worldwide, just behind the 2023 WPT Prime Gold Coast. Moreover, the prize pool reached seven figures, ~US$ 1,079,610 (VN₫ 25,343,869,000), the richest ever recorded for a non High Roller event in Vietnam.

The next stage of the Main Event is Day 2 with 143 players returning, each one is guaranteed a piece of the prize pool. Initially tallied at 145 players, there was one double qualifier, Khanh Pham Duy Nguyen who earned the minimum for his shorter stack, and at Day 1C, two players fell on the bubble to split the 144th place cash of VN₫ 39,000,000. Chu Hong Fu lost the flip against Ngoc Anh Cao and Kunal Patni’s set was burned by Ta Son Tung‘s straight on the river.
