Poker Dream makes landfall in Hoi An, Vietnam featuring ₫16 Billion in guarantees

 

In just under 48 hours, the first ever poker event in Hoi An, Vietnam will finally hit the live green as Poker Dream hosts a ten–day series at the five-star Hoiana Hotel & Suites. Since the announcement, the event has drawn plenty of attention with players anticipating another thrilling series by the new brand, and they certainly won’t be disappointed with a 28-game lineup in store running from October 14 to 23.

In addition to the games, the backdrop is one for the dreamers. The venue is oceanside with long stretches of white sand, and it has its own golf course. As for the charming Hoi An, it is a popular destination for many local vacationers. It is an ancient town rich with images of the past and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. For those flying in, the nearest airport is Da Nang International Airport. From there, you can take a taxi or a Grab to the venue. The ride is roughly 30-40 minutes.

If you are just getting wind of Poker Dream, this ambitious new brand debuted in Malaysia last July, becoming the first international poker event to be held in the country. With a tide of eager locals and international players lighting up the felt, it resulted in a grand festival prize pool of US$ 3M, one of the richest seen in Asia this year. 

For the upcoming series, players will find that the schedule is lined with tournaments for all types of bankrolls. Buy ins start from as low as VN₫ 6,000,000 (~US$ 250) to an expensive VN₫ 230,000,000 (~US$ 9,640). Several events to watch for are the guaranteed events which promise a combined VN₫ 16 Billion (~US$ 668,000) in prizes. The Main Event is a must as it fuels in the most money of VN₫ 10 Billion (~US$ 417,700). This is the single largest tournament guarantee extended by any brand in Vietnam.

Bookending the series is the High Roller VN₫ 3 Billion guaranteed event running from October 22 to 23. Buy in is VN₫ 60,000,000 (~US$ 2,530).
