Described as a “solid, aggressive” player, Slovakian poker champion Andrej Desset began his poker career online. While Desset is a qualified lawyer, his position as 4th on the Slovakia All-Time Money List and live earnings of nearly USD 1.2 million prove his abilities in poker.

After placing 1st at the IPC Tour in Vienna in 2017, Desset continued his deep run streak, earning his best live cash in September 2017 at the WSOP Circuit Rozvadov €300 No-Limit Hold’em event for $111K. On the following month, Desset nearly clasped a bracelet, finishing 3rd at WSOPE 6-Handed.

For the next two years, 2018 and 2019, Desset accrued over $265K, collecting a variety of wins and five figure payouts in Vienna and Prague. He even claimed the Prague Xmas Poker Main Event title. His largest score on those two years was $85.8K for 3rd place at the German Poker Masters.

During the pandemic, live events were still running in Rozvadov and Brattislava with Desset picking up some light scores. Then in 2023, the World Poker Tour held its first Prime Slovakia festival where Desset clinched the Super High Roller event for $54,700. The winning streak continued with a victory that same month at the Banco Casino Masters Main Event.

While Desset has made most of his appearances in Europe, he ventured to Asia in January 2024 for the inaugural WPT Cambodia Championship festival. He dominated the Mystery Bounty event for a healthy payout of USD 67,506.
