WPT Korea touches base this March, set to award a WPT Ring in the KR₩ 2 Billion (~US$ 1.5M) guaranteed Championship Event games
Listed as one of the World Poker Tour’s Special Events, the WPT Korea 2024 installment is gearing up to make waves this Spring with another runthrough at the luxurious Landing Casino, Jeju Shinhwa World, South Korea. The festival, calendared to run from March 25 – April 3, 2024, features an action-packed 28-tournament lineup across ten days, headlined by the KR₩ 2 Billion (~ US$ 1.5 Million) guaranteed Championship Event.
This year’s offering pumps up the excitement to a whole new level with a WPT Ring at stake for the Main Event winner. A first in Asia, the coveted hardware is sure to attract a staggering field throughout the premium festivities and bump up the prize pools to an eye-catching magnitude. Additionally, WPT tournament director Juan de Jesus will lead the games this year, backed by his more than two decades worth of experience, ensuring a delightful gaming experience for all.
“We continue to expand ways that poker players around the world can play World Poker Tour events,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “After a very successful WPT Korea stop in 2023, we made it a priority to return in 2024 and are looking forward to an even bigger turnout.“
The crown jewel Championship Event kicks off on Thursday, March 28th and will play through a total of four starting flights on schedule. Each entry will set players back KR₩ 2,800,000 (~US$ 2,100), and earn them a deep starting stack of 50,000 to course through 60 minute blind levels. The slow pace, structured similar to the revered Main Tour, allows players to put their skills to the test and have more room to maneuver their way to victory. 1 in 8 tournament runners (roughly 12.5% of the field) is deemed to collect a share of the prizes and continue on in search of the six figure top prize.
