W High Roller Recap

With a total of 42 entries and a combined prize pool of US$ 191,478, only 6 players emerged from the field walking away with a share of that prize money. Some familiar faces in the field were famous Filipino players Mike Takayama and David Erquiaga, Poker Dream emcee Grant Gardner, and Chinese players Quan Qiu and Bao Ge however all were long gone before ITM.

After almost 15 hours of play, the field bubbled when winner Hendri shoved with A10 into short stack Chen Shen with pocket nines 99. With the ace dropping on the turn, Hendri made Chen the bubble boy and the 6 ITM players were given the night to recuperate until the next day with each being guaranteed a minimum of $13,478.

Back To Back Knockouts For Hendri To Secure The Title

It’s not often you see a champion win with back to back knock outs but that’s exactly what Hendri delivered on the final day. Already commanding 60% of the chips in play, Hendri won a pot off Van Wijk and later busted him out with AK against KQ on a low board before eliminating Hinds in the very next hand with JJ over A5 on a board Q91038.

It was indeed a swift victory in the top 3 for Hendri with such a commanding chip lead and fast play.
