888poker signs Sam Abernathy and Jordan Banfield
Following Chris Moorman’s departure from Team Pro last August, the brand has signed on American pro Samantha Abernathy to be the latest addition to the 888poker family. Abernathy is a well-known poker player based in Las Vegas, Nevada with a strong following in social media. Abernathy marked the beginning of her career in 2016 when she finished third in the Aussie Millions Main Event for $437K and ultimately hasn’t looked back since.
“I am extremely excited, honoured and grateful for the opportunity to join Team888 Poker! 2020 was an exceptionally tough year for us all. And I think the most important lesson I learned through slowing down is that life is too short to not follow your passions above all else.”
“I’m looking forward to growing as a player with 888poker, reconnecting with friends on the felt, and my hope is just to inspire others to take the leap in their own journey to play this great game”, said Abernathy.
Moreover, Canada’s Jordan Banfield has also teamed up with 888poker, joining their newest band of Twitch streamers, StreamTeam. While it was only last July since StreamTeam was launched, the brand’s main channel 888pokerTV has already amassed over 10,000 followers.
“I’m very excited to work with 888poker! One of my biggest dreams when I started streaming on Twitch. was to become a sponsored pro for a company that I respect and admire.”
“I aim to provide great content through this collaboration and am proud to rep the brand as one of their online pros”, commented Banfield.
Wiktor ‘Limitless’ Malinowski partners with GGPoker
High stakes regular Wiktor Malinowski or otherwise known as ‘Limitless’ has recently announced his partnership with leading platform GGPoker, joining the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, Dan Bilzerian, and Fedor Holz in the brand’s star-studded stable. Representing the Poland team, Malinowski posted a video on Twitter with a promise to be more active on social media and to promote the game of poker across the nation. Kicking off his journey as part of Team Pro, Malinowski was featured as a special guest for the network’s WSOPC Ring Event #2: $10,300 Super MILLION$ $5M guaranteed.
The Polish pro’s partnership with GGPoker remains to be no surprise as the online poker giant has grabbed the attention of many equally popular pros. Malinowski lists an extensive record of achievements both in cash game and tournament poker, live and online. In 2020, Malinowski made headlines after winning the biggest pot in online poker history amounting to $842K off of Michael Addamo on Natural8 – GGNetwork. Not only a beast in cash games, Malinowski has an impressive record of tournament wins with the latest one being this year’s $250,000 Main Event Super High Roller Bowl Europe where he claimed $3.69 million in winnings. Considering Malinowski’s success on the felt, GGPoker’s player base can’t be more excited to see what this partnership could add to the table.
Unibet Poker hosts €40,000 Autumn Flop Race; Withdrawal from German market
Online poker is increasingly becoming more competitive across the scene with operators striving to give its fair share of promotions to their beloved players. This time around, Unibet Poker has added a €40,000 flop race promotion this autumn season in a bid to boost cash game traffic across the platform. From September 27th through October 31st, regular players on the site can join three leaderboards based on different stake levels (low, mid, high) with points awarded for flops seen.
The interesting giveaway awards top players in five weekly periods, with winners getting as much as €1,000 in prizes for the high tier league. Omaha enthusiasts are in for a sweeter treat as they’re welcome to take advantage of the format’s point multiplier throughout a variety of low to high stakes. A bonus of 30 points towards the race will also be awarded to all players everyday for the first 100 flops seen. With the promotion running, Unibet users can get ready to see more action as well as players across the tables for ultimately a fun-filled gaming experience.
On the other hand, online grinders geo-located in Germany will unfortunately be unable to participate in this promotion considering the operator has entirely pulled out from the market in light of the new tax regulations. As of September 21, 2021, Unibet has halted all access to online poker for German accounts with their existing tickets, points and bonuses all converted to cash. Despite the exit of its poker segment, the brand remains to include Germany in its sports betting clientele.
