Josh Arieh may not have reached the pinnacle of the All Time Money List, but he has been a longtime prominent figure in the professional poker scene thanks to his skills and victories in tournaments.

Earlier this week, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) named him one of the ten finalists for the 2024 Poker Hall of Fame. Arieh is actually no stranger to this since he has been nominated for the last three years.

The professional poker player from Atlanta, Georgia, is a regular in the WSOP tournaments. He has even won six bracelets, proving that he has definitely come a long way since serving as a caddy to former Major League Baseball star pitcher John Smoltz in 2010.

Arieh is one of the most accomplished players in WSOP history. He started joining poker competitions in 1999 and scored his career-best $2.5 million when he finished third place in the WSOP Main Event in 2004.

Though it’s difficult to say how much the former law firm courier’s net worth is as of late, it’s pretty clear that he has done so much to achieve his millionaire status. The Hendon Mob lists his total live earnings to be $12,561,200.

Arieh is currently ranked 107th on the global All Time Money List, where he peaked at 20th before. On the US All Time Money List, he snagged the 49th spot, while on Georgia’s list, he’s at the 3rd spot.

The 49-year-old has earned the respect of his peers and the poker community for being one of the least problematic pros in the industry. He has never been accused of cheating or scamming; however, he has rubbed some players the wrong way in some instances.

Arieh has won six WSOP bracelets throughout his career thus far. His first was from the $3,000 Limit Hold’em in 1999, followed by the $2,000 Pot Limit Omaha in 2005. In 2021, he earned two bracelets from the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha and the $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better events. He earned two more in 2023 from the $10,000 Limit Hold’em and the $25,000 H.O.R.S.E. High Roller.

Among his triumphs in the WSOP tournaments, his performance in 2021 proved to be the most remarkable since he was named WSOP Player of the Year at the time. It was also the last year when the series held its tournaments in Rio.

Despite becoming eligible for a slot in the Poker Hall of Fame in 2014, Arieh has still not made it to the exclusive club. This year, he is getting another shot at the elusive recognition as he is among the nominees for the induction event on July 14.
