The APPT Kickoff resumed with 50 players out of the 327 entries returning to action. Ryan Platon carried in the overall chip lead however he failed to reach the final table, instead exiting in 13th place. Flight B chip leader Junhui Lee fared better in 11th place.

In the end it was Canada’s Christian Lortie Cloutier who took it to the finish line defeating Filipino Terry Gonzaga in a roller coaster heads up. Cloutier locked up the PHP 860,000 (~USD 14,720) top prize and the coveted PokerStars spadie. He also received a seat worth PHP 80,000 to the APPT Manila Main Event.

The final table was loaded with local talent that Cloutier had to wade through. Among them was Mike Takayama in 6th place and Richard Marquez in 3rd place. Heads up opened with Gonzaga leading 40 bb to 8 bb. Cloutier won a flip with QsJs over pocket Sevens then a second double up with Kh2h pairing the two on the river to survive Gonzaga’s Ac6h.

With the counts switched, it was Gonzaga on the ropes when he doubled up with Ks7s king on the flop to survive As6h to reclaim the lead, though short-lived as Cloutier doubled up again with 2s2c holding against As7s. Down to crumbs, Gonzaga was ousted in 2nd place.
