Gumz won the classic preflop flip on the 3♠ 7♣ 8♥ 5♥ J♣ runout to double up through Takayama who was left with less than one big blind and eliminated the next hand.

Meanwhile at the other table, Masato Yokosawa was also eliminated.

With two players seeing a board of 6♦ T♦ 2♣ 6♥ A♠ and 98,000 in the pot, Chengcai Pan checked from the big blind and Fabian Gumz bet 105,000 from the cutoff. Pan shoved with a covering stack and Gumz, who had 105,000 behind, made the call for his tournament life.

Pan had top pair with A♣ J♥ but Gumz had trips with 9♠ 6♠ to double up.
