After the ICM chop that both players agreed upon, the battle for the commenced and in the very first hand, Vietnam’s Tran Cong Huan raises to 200,000 from D/SB and got re-raised to 500,000 by heads up opponent Jhon Hendri of Indonesia. Tran 4-bets all-in and Hendri, who barely covers Tran, makes the call.

Tran turns over K♥ 8♥ while Hendri is elated to table A♥ 8♣ .

The runout goes: Q♠ Q♣ T♠ 5♥ 9♣ as Jhon Hendri wins the title and Tran is officially the runner-up.

Tran Cong Huan and Jhon Hendri have reached an agreement and here are the details:

The players have expressed their intention to merge the current prizes still at stake and the undrawn bounties. Originally first place pays US$14,500 and second plays US$9,600. Plus the remaining bounties are one (1) US$1,000 envelope and one (1) US$500 envelope.

The sum of all is US$25,600 hence each player receives US$12,800 and will play for the trophy.

Zheng Anshu is now sixth in chips and tries to make something happen by raising from the +1 position for 60,000 but gets re-raised when it gets to Tran Cong Huan to 150,000. Zheng opts to call.

Much ado about chopping.

Already an endangered species after the debacle against Alex Wong the hand previous, Masataka Nishada goes all-in from the +1 position for his last 135,000. It is folded to the D where chip leader Erik Rozhynskyi makes the call. Vietnam’s Tran Vong Huan 3-bets all-in from the BB for 475,000 and Rozhynskyi chooses to fold.

The flop immediately favored Tran: 5♠ Q♠ 8♦ while the runout was completed by the 4♥ and the J♥ as Nishada gets busted in eighth place but was also able to get one bounty drawn for US$500.

Tran now nears the 800,000 chip mark with seven players remaining.

The flop gave Zheng the lead, but also gave Tran a multitude of outs: K♥ 9♥ J♠ . One of those direct outs arrived on the turn as the Q♥ showed. The river card made the double up official as the 7♣ arrived.

The flop gives Wong some kind of a prayer: 2♦ 8♥ 7♠ and despite the arrival of the T♦ on the turn to give Tran a set, Wong wasn’t drawing dead. Until the 9♦ shows on the river to give Tran a much needed double against Wong who hardly felt the hit.

Tran turns over A♥ J♥ and is in a coinflip for his tournament life against Kim’s 9♦ 9♥ .

The flop tilts the hand’s favor towards the Vietnamese player: 3♣ A♣ 8♠ and Kim receives no help on the turn as the Q♠ shows and the river is the Q♥ .

Tran’s double up sends Kim stack spiraling down to below 200,000 at most inopportune moment in the competition.

Tran Cong Huan of Vietnam opens from the +1 position for 8,000 and the action folds to the HJ of the Ukraine’s Erik Rozhynskyi who 3-bets it to 32,000. The action gets back to Tran who 4-bets all-in. Rozhynskyi has a brief think through and decides to fold.
