Bulgaria’s Slavin Popov opens from the +2 position for 700 as Lee Jangkyu of Korea makes the call from the SB. Another Korean in Kwak Minseung re-raises from the BB to 3,300 and gets both to call.


The flop is J 6 A as Lee checks. Kwak bombs away for 3,000 and still gets called by both Popov and Lee. The turn is the 6 as Lee and this time Kwak opt to check. Popov then bets 11,500. Lee folds as Kwak calls all-in for his remaining 11,300.


Popov shows K T for a flush draw while the Korean has him drawing dead as he turns over J J for a full house on the turn.


The river of the 4 makes Kwak’s double up off of the Bulgarian official.

After being the first bust out in Flight B, Korea’s Lee Jang Kyu uses his new artillery by getting involved in the +2 position against Nguyen Duc Thanh of Vietnam who is in the SB.


The pot is already at 2,300 and the flop of A 5 8 draws a bet from Nguyen to 800 and is called by Lee. The turn is the 2 as Nguyen now checks. The Korean unloads 3,000 and is still called. The river is the 7 and this time, both players check.


Nguyen shows Q Q while Lee outflopped him with A J. Lee is now building on his second stack.

The flop goes J T 8 as Zheng checks. Lee takes the betting lead and fires 1,700 as both his opponents make the call. The turn is the 2 and once again Zheng opts to check. Lee suddeny moves all-in for his remaining stack of 13,100 and makes the player on the D fold. Zheng calls.


Lee flips over J 6 for top pair on the flop while Zheng shows K J for top pair with a higher kicker on the flop. Needing a six to stay alive, Lee sees the river card is the 9 and becomes the first casualty of the day.


He may opt to re-enter.

The turn is the 9 and the Korean checks again. Lafont now fires 3,000 and still gets a call from Lee. The river is the 7 and now Lee comes out betting for 8,200 which gets quickly called by the Frenchman.


Lee shows K 9 for two pairs on the turn while Lafont tables A 2 for a higher two pairs on the flop.


Lafont’s stack surges to above 40,000.
