Taiga Ishiwatari Has Been Eliminated in 16th Place For PHP 344,000 (~$5,850)

Level 21: 15,000 / 30,000 ante: 30,000
Taiga Ishiwatari

The action folded around to Jordan Westmorland in the small blind, who shoved all in. Taiga Ishiwatari was in the big blind and snap-called for his tournament life with around 190,000 in his stack.

Taigi Ishiwatari: Q J

Jordan Westmorland: A Q

Westmorland had no interest in looking at the board and stared into the abyss somewhere while Ishiwatari's future in the tournament was about to be realized.

It seems paying no attention to the board means your hand holds up as the runout of 8 2 7 T 8 kept Westmorland in the lead, sending Ishiwatari to the rail in 16th.

Thompson Boosts Up From Ishiwatari

Level 18: 8,000 / 16,000 ante: 16,000

Gary Thompson raised to 32,000 and Taiga Ishiwatari matched from the cutoff along with big blind Rosuke Tomuro.

Three players saw a flop of Tc 5h 4s then all checked to get a freebie Ts on the turn. Tomuro checked his option over to Thompson who put 50,000 in the middle. Ishiwatari called and Tomuro got out of the way.

A river 2s showed for the remaining two and Thompson fired 175,000. Ishiwatari tanked and used up a couple of time-bank cards before finally making the call. Thompson showed a Qd Td for a trip tens. Ishiwatari didn't bother opening his cards.
