A total of 260 international entries chucked in the PHP 70,000 (~US$ 1,200) buy-in to join this prestigious poker event at the Okada Manila. Ten 40-minute levels are in the record books with 120 hopefuls still keeping their seats for a chance to be part of the payout from the guaranteed PHP 25,000,000 (~US$ 428,300).

Play will continue until 39 players are left. Those 39 will pack their chips and bring them back tomorrow for the PokerStars Red Dragon (PHP 25M GTD) Day 2 Final along with the 22 other survivors of Flight A. There's still a lot of poker to play among the 120 that remain. After 10 levels, leading the field in chips is Edilberto Gopez of the Philippines with a stack of 230,0000. Malaysian pro Yan Wen Yee is a breath away with 227,000. Rounding up the top three is Lifu Huang of China with 210,000.

Jennifer Cassell moved all-in for 39,000, followed by another shove from Yan Wen Yee for a bigger 113,000. Troy Mclean on the big blind makes the final for a three way showdown. Board ran 8♥ 4♣ 3♣ 7♦ 4♠ , earning Cassell a full triple up while Yee finishes one spot short of the money.

Following fifteen levels of play, the first flight of the PHP 25,000,000 (~USD 433,690) guaranteed APPT Open closed with only 13 players surviving through led by Neel Joshi. Joshi stormed to the lead by the last level, having firstly doubled up through Takumi Odani followed with another sizeable pot from Dohwan Kim. Joshi brings in a mighty 452,000 (113 BB) onto Day 2, joined by a dozen more contenders listed below.

Two more flights are set to play through tomorrow, with Flight C running faster paced 20 minute levels.
