Daily Updates
Day 9 - October 26, 2024
Mike Takayama Is The APPT One Million Challenge Champion!
14 entries bought in for PHP 1,000,000 (~US$ 17,100) to build a prize pool of PHP 13,172,600 (~US$ 225,000). Only the top three players would get in the payout circle. The biggest winner was none other than the Philippines' very own Mike Takayama, who bested Australian pro Stevan Chew in heads-up battle. Takayama adds another PokerStars spade trophy to his collection and pads up his total live earnings with an additional PHP 6,587,600 (~US$ 112,000).
Takayama has already made two cashes in this PokerStars Live APPT Manila Championship series. He bagged two runner-up finishes at the PHP 25,000 NLH Okada Kickoff and at the PHP 150,000 NLH - Mini High Roller. Takayama won over PHP 1,000,000 both times. Of course, while second place finishes pay well, there is still nothing like winning a championship, and Takayama must be elated to finally get over that slight hump with a championship win here.
Stevan Chew took home PHP 3,950,000 (~US$ 67,000) for his second place finish.
Michael Soyza earned PHP 2,635,000 (~US$ 45,000) for finishing at third, rounding up the ITM payouts.

Pop Goes The Bubble At APPT One Million Challenge
APPT One Million Challenge
Blinds 100,000/150,000 Ante 150,000 (Level 16)
With the blinds rising up, it's inevitable. Dominick Nitshce made a min-raise and then called for the last 1,500,000 when Stevan Chew shoved all-in for 4,200,000 at the big blind.
Nitsche needed an ace, but none came and the kings of Chew held up to crown Nitsche as the bubbl boy.

APPT One Million Challenge (Single Re-Entry) Continues Today
The APPT One Million Challenge (Single Re-Entry) opened yesterday with six players high-rolling the PHP 1,000,000 (~US$ 17,100) buy-in to join. Players will be given a starting stack of 1,00,000 chips which will provide for a comfortable and lengthy marathon. In fact, yesterday's action only saw one bust out. Perhaps action was too slow, but the remaining 5 decided to take a pause to continue the action the next day in the hopes that more would register, which brings us to right now!
Action continues here at the Okada Manila with a total of 11 entries so far with 10 remaining to compete for a piece of the PHP 10,349,900 (~US$ 176,700) prize pool. Registration is still open until end of Level 12. Play will resume at Level 8 where blinds are 10,000/25,000 Ante 25,000.
The chip leader so far is Elias Gutierrez with 3,045,000, amassing that from making the single bust-out from yesterday. The situation might change soon with more players in the field.
