In less than a week’s time is the APL Online Series boasting a monstrous CN¥ 80 Million (~US$ 12,620,600) guarantee, and happening simultaneously is the APL Happy New Year Event live in South Korea featuring KR₩ 1,100,000,000 (~US$ 922,350) in guarantees. APL Online Series CN¥ 80 Million guaranteed at Natural8
A couple of online events have already been announced for players in the Asian region and joining the list is the APL Online Series to be hosted at virtual platform Natural8 – GGNet. Once again, the upcoming festival presents a unique variety of tournaments that highlights the treasures of Asia. A massive CN¥ 80 Million (~US$ 12,620,600) is guaranteed along with 20 Jade Trophies up for grabs.
The festival officially kicks off on January 30 and will run through February 13. Buy ins range from CN¥ 210 (~US$ 33) to CN¥ 3,300 (~US$ 560). The series is crowned by the CN¥ 1,888 (~US$ 295) buy in Main Event featuring a CN¥ 10,000,000 (~US$ 1,577,500) guarantee. In addition to trophy events, players can also indulge in the long list of daily side events.
Unlike other upcoming Asia online festivals, the APL Online Series casts a wider net with games open to everyone on the GG Network. For players not located in the region, just keep in mind that all featured tournaments are Asia time zone friendly.
During the last installment, the online series well exceeded its advertised guarantee, paying out over US$ 16 Million. Among the biggest winners was Spain’s Juan “Little Pepe” Vecino who turned his CN¥ 1,888 (~US$ 295) Main Event buy in into a mighty CN¥ 1,402,498 (~US$ 217,550) payout. APL Happy New Year Event KR₩ 1.1 Billion guaranteed
The APL Happy New Year Event is the brand’s first live festival of the year and it takes place from February 2 to 6 in South Korea. Over the five day series, 10 tournaments are scheduled with combined guarantees amounting to KR₩ 1,100,000,000 (~US$ 922,35).
Offering the biggest chunk is the Main Event KR₩ 700,000,000 (~US$ 586,950) guaranteed. Qualifiers have been running at various pubs every weekend around the country since December 4 and will be offered until January 29. Three starting days will also be available during the festival. At the time of writing, 665 have entered with 111 advancing to Day 2.
