The tour may already be a regular visitor to Asia, but operations there have now been stepped up a notch, with WPT Vietnam and WPT India having now been officially announced.

In a 20 day period starting in September, a succession of Asian events will take place beneath the WPT banner, in what is being called an “Asia Swing” providing players with the perfect opportunity to visit Asia.

WPT Vietnam: September 26th – October 4th

The WPT Vietnam Main Event will take place between September 28th and October 2nd, with the buy in fee set at VND 22 million, which translates to around USD 1,000. The guarantee for the tournament has been set at VND 8 billion, which is in the region of USD 345,000. A WPT Vietnam High Roller event priced at VND 44 million (approx. $2,000) is also scheduled.

The venue for the event is the highly respected Pro Poker Club in the beautiful location of Ho Chi Minh city.

GAMAX Investment Sports & Entertainment’s Denis Pham said about the event “Pro Poker Club has had outstanding success this year, with thousands of entries across our major tournament series. We look forward to elevating the offering we provide our players with the addition of WPT Vietnam starting in September.”

WPT India: November 13th  – 19th

Following WPT Vietnam will be WPT India, set to take place between November 13th and 19th. Deltin Royale Casino has secured the rights to host the event in Goa, with the event being organised by WPT and partners Adda52. The Main Event will cost INR 55,000 to enter, which equates to USD 800. Last year’s champion, Vikash Mantri, walked away with INR 6.03 million, which is around USD 92,000, and players this year can expect a similar 1st prize to be on offer.

Mohit Agarwal, Founder & CEO of Adda52.com commented “We are excited to host the second season of the WPT at India’s largest casino, Deltin Royale in Goa. With a population of 1.3 billion, India has a booming poker scene and the game is growing in popularity by the day. WPT India is a perfect fit for the Indian poker community and puts India firmly on the global poker tournament map.”

Each team is made up of four players, with one team maximum per country. The following Team captains have already been confirmed: Sam Razavi , Bryan Huang and Sparrow Cheung.
