Action is taking place from 16th to 25th November and cards are already in the air.

Today’s opening events are the two flights (Day 1A and Day 1B) of the $440 Kick-off tournament and a $150 Main Event satellite.

The Festival

WPT Asia Pacific Season 18 has already created a lot of hype in the poker community with its first stops in Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Australia and India. Cambodia as a destination was announced at a later point and we have all eagerly been awaiting this exciting festival to start.

With 1658 luxurious rooms and suites, NagaWorld is one of the largest 5-star hotels and the only luxury premium casino in Phnom Penh.

This WPT Cambodia is the first international poker tournament that has been ever hosted in the venue and in the capital city. It has been made possible by a partnership between Nagaworld, the World Poker Tour and Connaissance Management, a boutique gaming event consulting company.

Main Event

Trophies

The $1,100 Main Event will run from 21st to 25th November and will feature a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool. WPT’s Danny McDonagh has confirmed to Somuchpoker that already over 100 players have pre-registered and that a field of over 500 players is expected for this first ever Cambodian WPT Main Event.

10K High Roller added

Due to high interest, an additional event was recently added to the 17-event schedule, a $10k High Roller on 21st November, starting at 5.30pm. Players that are seated at the start of this 1-re-entry tournament receive a $150 refund.

This makes it 18 events with buy-ins ranging from $250 to $10,000 on the schedule.

Cash Games

Unlike in Taiwan or Vietnam cash games are allowed in Cambodia. Action has already started yesterday with seven tables running in games up to $5/10. Tables are set up in the event room allowing players to easily jump into a game in case of a premature tournament exit.
