Interviews form one key part of our content output, and in 2017 we have reached out to many big names in poker, both on a global scale and a more local Asian level too.
As the new year starts, we bring you the list of our best interviews of 2017, and take a closer look at why they were important.
February: Danny McDonagh: inside, out and back again
After years spent as the face of the APPT, Danny McDonagh had become an integral part of live tournament poker in Asia, and in this interview he told us why he called time on his role at PokerStars as the Director of Live Events, and took a 9 month hiatus from working.

In this interview, CEO of the WPT Adam Pliska gave us his insight into how poker is growing globally. He also discussed where the WPT would be heading next in terms of expanding its brand and what sets the WPT apart from other live tours.
June: Gus Hansen: “Yes, I’m back on the poker scene”
After a self-imposed exile from the game, in which he barely played any poker for two years, Gus Hansen took a moment to talk about his return to the ring in this interview. He told us that he hoped to play more tournaments during the summer, including the WSOP, and gave us details about why he has spent so much time playing high stakes PLO in his career.
June: James Obst talks about winning his first WSOP Bracelet and his goals as player
James Obst has seen real success in both the online world, and live. He talked to us about his experiences in the game, his first WSOP bracelet and career goals. He also told us more about how the Australian legal changes are affecting him as a player and his plans going forward.

This interview saw us sit down for a chat with Julien Tran who is co-founder of Poker Coach Vietnam. He told us about his own poker journey and experiences, and talked with us about the coaching he provides.

Jennifer Harman has been around the live circuit for years and has a wealth of knowledge about the game, and life as a professional player. She shared some of this knowledge with us during this interview back in August.
