Queenco Casino announces 4 Poker festivals in Sihanoukville

The Queenco Hotel & Casino in Cambodia‘s main coastal city of Sihanoukville has announced an ambitious plan to bring more poker to Southeast Asia’s mainland. Regarding strong regulations in surrounding countries, the new owner of its poker room, Avi Cohen aims to offer more options to enjoy a growing number of live tournaments. Queenco Casino have already been offering cash games in their poker room for some years now, and were the hosts of the previous three editions of APT Cambodia.

“Queenco’s Poker Room is looking forward to giving players from each country in South Asia the chance to have ‘their Poker Cup’ and challenge each other to see who the best player in the country is” said Mr Cohen, in a clear statement about upcoming further editions.

Plans for the month of August are as follows:
27/7 to 01/08 – Cambodia Poker Cup
03/08 to 10/08 – Singapore Poker Cup
10/08 to 15/08 – India Poker Cup
27/08 to 05/09 – Vietnam Poker Cup

Schedule

The first event will shuffle up & deal on Wednesday, July 27th with a satellite on offer. Since Pot Limit Omaha has seen popularity growth in recent times, Queenco are offering a $550 Main Event for PLO along with Holdem. PLO will also feature in the High Roller schedule, with an $880 PLO High Roller on Sunday, in addition to the $110 NLH tournament on Saturday. OFC fans can also enjoy their favoured format on the final Monday. Tournaments aside, there will be a barbecue on Queenco’s beachfront terrace on Saturday, to which all players are invited. This will run until 8pm, at which time there will be a ceremony for the Main Event winners.

Other cups are expected to follow a similar schedule.

Travelling to Sihanoukville has become much easier since Cambodia Angkor Airlines has started running five direct flights each week from Saigon, with return tickets costing around $200.

For local accommodation, players have the right to stay overnight in Queenco‘s newly renovated hotel tower for a player rate of $55 per night, including breakfast. There are also good rooms in town for around $10-$20.
