No Limit Hold'em - Main Event
There haven’t been too many players from China that have burst onto the Asian poker scene in quite the same fashion as Yuguang Li. The 37 year old used to spend his days working as a businessman, but is continuing to grow in stature as a poker player. His accomplishments at the 22nd Macau Poker Cup in 2015 were truly exceptional.
The first live cash of Yuguang Li’s career came relatively recently, in April 2013. His first three cashes in were in Macau, and included two scores in the four figure category, both in 2014. In March of 2015, Macau was once again the location, as Li fought his way through a talented to field to take victory in the Red Dragon Event. This title ensured a monumental boost to his all time cashes, as he took home USD$238,230. He then decided to enter the High Roller event at the same Macau Poker Cup festival, just a few days later, and amazingly, won that too. An equally tough field was once more decimated by Li, and he took home another USD$212,037 for his efforts.
Since then, Yuguang Li has won just over USD$18,000 in an EPT side event, and over USD$31,000 at the 2015 ACOP Main Event, where he finished 20th place. He continues to make deep runs in big tournaments, defying the notion that his two huge results in 2015 were a fluke.
