Profile

Born in Hong Kong, Stanley Choi has always been a businessman, primarily. Choi has been a shrewd investor for many years, while founding YunFeng Capital, and being one of the largest shareholders within Simsen International Financial Group. He is also an important figurehead for The Nature Conservancy project.

Stanley Choi has shown a great enthusiasm for poker over the years, as more than just a way to relax and have fun. He credits poker with helping him become a better businessman, and has spoken about attitudes towards poker in China, and how they could progress positively in the future.

As a man who isn’t afraid to test himself against the world’s best poker players, mostly in huge buy in events, you might think that Stanley Choi wouldn’t have any significant results to his name. In fact, he is #1 on China’s all time money list, although it’s important to point out that this was largely the result of one defining result.

The Macau High Stakes Challenge Super High Roller in 2012 saw him take 1st place, and the USD$6,465,574 1st prize. In December 2013 he backed this up with a USD$117,800 win at WPT Korea, and in November 2015, he added over USD$401,000 at the APPT – ACOP High Roller event, where he finished 2nd.

As much as he is an impressively successful businessman, Stanley Choi should not be underestimated as a poker player.
