– Sriharsha Doddapaneni’s Career –

Doddapaneni emerged on the Indian poker scene in 2018.

That year, he collected his first recorded live cashes. In April 2018, he came in 3rd in the INR75,000 No Limit Hold’em High Roller at the Baadash Gaming Live Tournament in Goa for INR600,000 (which equaled around $9,200 at the time). In the same month, he took down the INR200,000 No Limit Hold’em DPT Super High Roller event at the DPT Colossus Super High Roller Series in Panjim. He pocketed no less than INR2.780 million ($42,902) for that victory, which is the biggest single live tournament score of his career to date.

In the summer, he traveled to Las Vegas to play in the World Series of Poker. He came home with 3 cashes. He even made it into the money in the Main Event, eventually busting in 1057th place out of 7,874 entrants for $15,920.

In August 2018, Doddapaneni finished 10th in the PHP200,000 NLHE High Roller Shot Clock & BB Ante event at the Asia Pacific Poker Tour in Manila, Philippines for PHP553,000 ($10,409).

Back in India, he bagged one of his first major scores online. In December 2018, playing under the screen name “Ivey2“, an homage to 10-time WSOP bracelet winner poker legend Phil Ivey, he won the Whale 6-Max INR 15 lakh GTD tournament on Adda52 for INR413,672 (around $6,000).

Sriharsha Doddapanen also finished 26th in the RUB191,800 Main Event at the Sochi, Russia stop of the European Poker Tour and bagged RUB785,750 ($12,154). In October 2019, he took down the INR14,000 No Limit Hold’Em Big Bounty event at WPT India for INR663,830 ($9,351). Before that in 2019, he traveled back to Vegas for the annual WSOP, and made it into the money in 5 events this time around.

His big breakthrough, however, came a year later. In 2020, when all the World Series events were forced to be played online due to the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic, he collected no less than 18 (!) WSOP cashes. What’s more, he came in 3rd in the $1,000 No Limit Hold’em – Double Stack event on Natural8-GGNetwork for a massive $357,409 payout.

In November 2021, he took 18th place in the $1,100 NLHE event at The Wynn Fall Classic in Vegas for $10,626. Still in the same month, he finished 14th in the $1,600 No Limit Hold’em – DeepStack Championship event at the DeepStack Championship Poker Series at The Venetian for $20,040. However, his next massive score came from an online event on GG again.

In January 2022, he managed to beat a field of 1,716 runners in the $1.050 Ring #17: GGMasters HR Freezeout event at the WSOP Winter Circuit Online on GGPoker. He won $219,808, along with his first WSOP Circuit ring, after beating Lachezar “Psychedelica” Petkov from Bulgaria heads-up for the title at the end.
