Born in Taiwan, Leon Li Ta Hsu has been putting in a great deal of hours over the last two years, when it comes to live tournament poker. He has been recording a consistent stream of cashes throughout 2014 and 2015, and managed to take a very respectable 6th place in the APPT Player of the Year race of 2015.
The earliest live cashes for Li Ta Hsu arrived back in 2006, in Melbourne, but his cashes remained sparse, with only five in the following 7 years. In 2014 however, he clearly started viewing poker as more than just a hobby, as he travelled across Asia, racking up 15 cashes throughout the year. January of that year saw him take victory in a Macau Poker Cup Deepstack event, for USD$13,976 before addingUSD8,097 for 16th place in the APPT Seoul Main Event. November of 2014 saw Li Ta Hsu add another five figure score, when he finished 6th in an ACOP event, for USD$14,691 before following it up with 24th place in the Aussie Millions Main Event in January, banking USD$31,605 for his efforts. Another USD$36,665 followed, when Li Ta Hsu managed 5th place at the ANZPT Main Event, and victory in the Main Event of the Asian Tournament of Poker in Jeju, saw him add another USD$31,984 to his bankroll. Late 2015 saw him win a PLO event at the ACOP festival, for USD$26,758 before capping a great festival and ending his year in style, with 2nd place in the ACOP 6 max event, and USD$30,719 in prize money.
