Profile

Lester Edoc is a professional poker player from the Philippines, and one of the most liked and respected players in the Asian circuit. He is regularly featured in tournament live reporting for the last five years or so.

The first live cash finish Lester Edoc notched was back in 2009, where he placed 3rd in an Asian Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Cebu side event for USD$5,211. Over the next four years, he posted a multitude of four figure cashes, mostly on the Asian Poker Tour (APT).

It wasn’t until October 2013 that Edoc finally got his big moment when he got 2nd place at the APT Manila Main Event. Lester Edoc probably wished he could have gone one place further but it was still an excellent achievement, especially since he took home USD$56,299 as prize money.  This undoubtedly spurred him on to his next achievement in February 2014 when won a side event at APT Cebu, banking USD$11,970 in the process.

Early 2015 saw Edoc once again taking victories in APT side events, winning USD$7,386 for his win on January 31st, and USD$8,480 for another victory on February 2nd. In April 2015 Edoc demonstrated that his abilities weren’t limited to Holdem, when he won a PLO side event at APT Manila, winning USD$6,550. The end of 2015 saw another big moment in the career of Edoc, as he took down the IPO3 Main Event, and added a career best score of USD$59,400 to his all time cashes.

2016 continued another highly active season for the pro. He cashed at least 21 times which included victories in two events at Metro Card Club and strong performances at 2 side events of the very last APPT Manila – the PLO event and the High Roller event for US$25,414 and US$31,782, respectively.

In 2017, the Edoc spark continued winning the APT Kickoff Warm Up event in January. That month alone saw him cash 6 times. In February, he placed 10th at the Baby Dragon event then surprisingly, the Edoc fire simmered down. He cashed sporadically for the rest of the year but nowhere near earning titles.

Entering 2018, Edoc returned to the spotlight taking down the inaugural APL Road Series Philippines Main Event on March 1st. Edoc outlasted a field of 276 entries and earned approximately US$28,300. Ten days later, he was on top of the charts once again, this time overcoming a massive field of 1,118 entries at the PokerStars Live Manila Super Series 6 Main Event. He was awarded Php1,377,500 (US$26,400) and the PS Players Championship Platinum Pass to the Bahamas in 2019. This exclusive pass has a value of US$30,000.

In 2019, Edoc continued proving his worth with several cashes in the Philippines and even two at the WSOP. At the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Manila he finished 2nd in the ₱ 500,000 No Limit Hold’em – Super High Roller for his biggest score of US$118,273.

2020 was off to a good start right away with Edoc’s 2nd biggest score as of yet, taking down the ₱ 485,000 + 15,000 No Limit Hold’em – Red Dragon Super High Roller at the Red Dragon Manila for US$102,210. This cash pushed Edoc across the US$1 Million line.

Lester Edoc currently ranks 6th in the Philippines All Time Money List with a little over US$ 1 million in live earnings. This does not include his Metro Card Club victories in 2014 and two in 2016 totalling US$ 51K.

When the live poker circuit went online during the Corona crisis Lester proved that he can deliver on the virtual felt as well. He finished 4th in the WSOPC Big $500 $2M GTD for US$ 159,979 and in June took down the multi-day GGPoker network $500 High Roller MILLION$ event for $285,646.40.
