Jae Kyung Sim aka “Simba” is an excellent prospect from South Korea, having racked up many final tables and impressive results since becoming a professional player on the live tournament circuit.
He has an 11th and a 9th place in the APT Player of the Year race over the past 4 years. The earliest recorded cash for Jae Kyung Sim came in March 2010, when he took 10th place in the APPT Manila Main Event, for USD$13,000. He followed that up with two more five figure scores over the next two years, before becoming a more serious live tournament player. May 1st in 2013 saw Sim achieve his first major cash, when he won the APPT Cebu Main Event, for USD$95,487. Many small cashes followed, until December 2013, when the WPT Korea Main Event provided a 5th place finish, and USD$21,400. Soon afterwards, he followed that up with 34th place at the Aussie Millions Main Event, adding a further USD$26,245 to his list of cashes. April 2014 saw Sim bank his biggest cash up to that point in his career, with another excellent result at EPT San Remo. He took 3rd place in the Main Event, for USD$103,256. 4th place in a Deep Stack Event in Las Vegas then arrived that summer, bringing a further USD$29,077 score with it. Over a year passed, but Sim eventually managed to hit another big score, when he took 6th place in a APPT Macau Poker Cup 23, Holdem side event. This added another USD$27,028 to his impressive list of results.
Jae Kyung Sim has been prolific in major events across Asia in recent years, and is certainly a name to watch in the coming years, as he works to add more titles to his growing list of accomplishments.
