– GENERAL INTRODUCTION –

Chi Jen Chu is a professional poker player based in Taiwan, mostly seen at the high roller tables.

Chu took down his first tournament title in 2018 during the Warm-Up event of the Poker Master Taiwan Millions Tournament for $3,276. It was indeed quite the warm-up for Chu as he went on to finish 2nd at the circuit’s main event for $13,191. Later on in the year, he won two other titles in the Elite Poker Tour and the Master Poker Series & GPL China Season 2 Taiwan Tour for a combined prize pool of $10,949.

The successive victories were all Chu needed to pursue his foray into the live poker tournament scene. In 2019, he cashed tournaments left and right, winning five titles and accumulating a total of $140,186 in earnings.

The onset of the global health pandemic slowed live poker down across the globe from 2020 to 2022. However, Taiwan’s effective health protocol allowed them to contain the coronavirus. This proved fortunate for Taiwanese players, including Chu who continued his campaign well into 2020 and 2021.

He won six titles in 2020, along with multiple final table appearances, for a total of $138,470 in winnings for the year. Chu with the GG online username PetitFoxx also took down a WSOPC ring event for a  $75,954 payday to go along with the golden hardware. The year 2021, on the other hand, was a dry spell for the Taiwanese pro, at least on the live felt. He kept missing the gold and having to settle for 2nd place finishes. He earned $80,730 for the year.

In 2022, Chu turned things around. He clinched seven titles for the year and posted a $234,997 payday to make the year his most lucrative in poker so far. The accumulated score includes Chu’s best live cash to date of $120,980 for finishing 2nd at the WPT Prime Main Event in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Overall, Chu has $624,047 in total live earnings, putting him 17th in Taiwan’s All-Time Money List.
