Partypoker has built a reputation for brave guarantees in recent times. With its live offerings now as popular as its online platform, partypoker has pushed the boundaries once again with the upcoming Caribbean Poker Party and Millions Online.
PARTYPOKER LIVE 2018 Caribbean Poker Party kicks off
This series has seen partypoker guarantee an astonishing $22 million, with the event having got underway on November 9th at Baha Mar in the Bahamas. The series will run until November 17th and will begin with a $10 million guaranteed ‘MILLIONS World’ event. This $25,500 High Roller will be just one of the highlights of the series and will guarantee a prize pool ten times higher than was offered for the same $25,500 event last year. $5,200 satellites will be running from the 9th through the 11th, as partypoker seek to secure the 400 entries they require for the event not to have an overlay. Re-entries will also be available.

The opening event is not the only $10 million guarantee on the schedule, as the $5,300 Main Event also offers the same fantastic prize pool. This is double the guarantee of last year. The Main Event will be a re-entry tournament and has satellites running, with buy ins of $550 and $1,100. These will be taking place between the 10th and 14th of November. In addition to these events, there will be a $1,100 Finale tournament with a $1 million guarantee, a $1,100 PLO event with $100,000 in the prize pool and a $250,000 buy in Super High Roller Championship along with a $1,650 HORSE tournament and other small side events.
Partypoker MILLIONS Online breaks new ground with $20 million guaranteed
Just to be clear here, the partypoker MILLIONS Online is one single tournament. You would be forgiven for thinking it was entire series however, given the guarantee figure attached to it. Its guarantee, set at $20 million will dwarf the largest in online history, which was set by the PokerStars Sunday Million 10th anniversary event back in 2011. That tournament 7 years ago had a prize pool of just over $12.4 million. That was back in the days when PokerStars had the market cornered, and so partypoker putting up $20 million in 2018 is truly incredible.
Last year’s partypoker MILLIONS Online guaranteed $5 million, which it barely cleared in buy ins, a fact which underlines how bold this guarantee really is.
Most would probably bet on there being an overlay for this tournament, and all in the poker world should certainly salute the courage of an online poker room seeking to take this kind of risk for its players.
