New “lottery” sit & go makes debut on 888Poker

The frenetic short handed nature of lottery sit & go’s has always been alluring for players who like a bit of gamble in their games. The fact that the prize being played for is also a gamble only serves to compound the very nature of what makes these games popular. After careful consideration, 888 Poker has now rolled out its own interesting version called Blast Sit & Go’s.

What’s new?

With different versions of the lottery sit & go already on offer in other poker rooms, there has been ample time for 888 Poker to examine these and come up with improvements, and it does seem that the differences in their own version are useful.

The countdown clock

The countdown clock is one interesting development, with players being allowed a certain number of blind levels before play switches to an all in every hand format. Importantly, when playing for higher prize pools, players are given more blind levels before the clock runs out. This means that when bigger money is on the line, you actually get to play a little poker along the way, while the lowest multipliers are shepherded along by the clock at a faster pace.

Prize Pool Multiplier  Countdown Timer
2-5X 6 Mins
10X 8 Mins
100X 10 Mins
1,000-10,000X 12 Mins

Multiplier

Another improvement that should please all players is that more places are paid for the bigger money games. Two places are paid for a 5X buy in game, and all three are paid for the 10X and 100X games.

Prize Pool Multiplier 1st place 2nd place 3rd place 4th place
2X 100%
5X 70% 30%
10X 60% 25% 15%
100X 60% 25% 15%
1,000X 60% 20% 10% 10%
10,000X 60% 20% 10% 10%

The only downside is the rake, which can be as much as 10%. This figure drops very slightly as you go up in stakes, but overall, the rake remains the highest online for this type of game.
