Mike Kim to open LT Poker in Okada Manila on March 2

It’s official! This coming Friday, March 2, a new poker room is set to launch in the Philippines with Mike Kim opening LT Poker in Okada Manila. As an avid poker promoter with a network of VIP clientele all over the region, Kim has one goal in mind “offering the biggest Cash Games in the country”.

LT Poker’s doors will open at 2pm with raffle and giveaways for the first players that jump into the games of the brand new poker room.

However, the height of the celebrations and ribbon cutting starts at 6pm with several prominent members of the Asian poker industry expected to attend.

More details of the ceremony will be provided in their facebook page within the coming days.

LT Poker’s offering

For this venture, Mike Kim teamed up with a well-implemented junket. The two operators will combine their strength and connections to run High Stakes poker games in Manila.

LT Poker room will feature only 6 VIP tables with no games under Php50/Php100. Mike Kim’s ambition is to run games up to Php2000/ Php4000 (almost US$50/$100) with 3 different formats on offer: No Limit Hold’em, Omaha, and Badugi.

This roadmap can sound ambitious, but it needs to be remembered that Mike Kim has already successfully run similar games at Solaire Casino in 2015 which even featured international players like Daniel “Jungleman” Cates.

The location itself is already a premium asset for the project. Freshly open, Okada Manila is the largest casino resort in the country. The $4B complex features nearly 1,000 rooms and more than 25,000 m2 of gaming space. VIP Gamblers from all around Asia are expected and will likely fuel the high stakes action of the poker room.

Small Stakes action: Okada Poker Room

Interestingly, LT Poker won’t be the only place offering poker games at Okada. The Casino itself will run games but with a focus on the smaller stakes games below 50php/100php.

The two entities are planning to combine forces in the future to host international poker events.

LT Poker : Home of the Asian Poker Federation

LT Poker is also part of a larger project (also carried by Mike Kim) progressively taking shape: The Asian Poker Federation. The federation aims to gather poker clubs all across Asia and to co-host events capitalizing on their respective member base. The first club (on top of LT Poker) to officially join the Asian Poker Federation is Imperial, a poker club located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The Philippine poker scene has seen drastic changes for the past 10 years but one figure that always seems to come back is Mike Kim.
