Fedor Holz takes down yet another high stakes poker tournament: the PokerStars High Rollers Event #1. The event was the first of 22 high roller events, starting on Nov. 26 and had a buy-in of $2,100. Despite an alluring guaranteed prize pool of $1 million, only 442 players registered resulting in some overlay. The first-place prize, a staggering $178,498, went to “CrownUpGuy”, Holz’s online alias.

To get to the finish line he had to outlast online poker’s elite including Igor “IgorKurganov” Kurganov (25th for $8,173), Roman “RomeOpro” Romanovsky (22nd for $8,173), Jordan “JWPRODIGY” Westmoreland (11th for $13,869), and Patrick “pad1161” Leonard (sixth for $42,651). It seems that Holz’s retirement announcement last year won’t come to fruition anytime soon.

Another big name in poker, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, has won the $2,100 Sunday High Roller 200k Guaranteed taking down a sizeable $63,842. Poker notables Fedor Holz, Igor Kurganov, Liv Boeree, Jason Koon, Ben Tollerene, Justin Bonomo and Mustapha Kanit were amongst the 114 entries to play the event. But only the top 20 places got paid which included Liv Boeree, Fedor Holz, Justin Bonomo and 2013 WSOP Main Event winner Ryan Riess.

It was another Swede, Sasuke234, who would eventually lose to Isildur1 in heads-up despite Blom starting second in chips. This is one more title for Isildur1, who already won the SCOOP High Main Event in 2011 and claimed his first WCOOP title this summer in the $2,100 Horse. Although Blom is known for being a high stakes cash game player, he is making way in the online tournament world.
