The Poker King Cup (PKC) is currently hosting its longest poker festival at the Venetian Macau. The festivities saw the cards flying on May 18th and will be ongoing for a total of nine days until its conclusion on May 26th.
Developed by the well-known Poker King Club that produces highly reputable cash games, the Poker King Cup launched in January 2016 as an opening event to the WPT National Manila. This highly successful first step attracted 312 entries with Korea’s Soojo Kim winning the event.
Later in the year in May, the PKC ran its first stand alone event in Manila. PKC team member Jason Lo triumphed the Php 4 million Gtd Main Event (approx HK$620,000) with 279 players in attendance.
This time, the PKC is back with Macau as their newest stop. The festival will feature a much juicier Main Event guarantee of HK$5,000,000. Also on the schedule are 12 lucrative side events including a HK$1,000,000 Warm Up event.
Here are the highlights of the schedule:
- HK $5,0000,000 Gtd Main Event – buy-in HK$16,500
- HK $1,000,000 Gtd Warm-up Event – buy -in HK$8,000
- HK $80,000 buy-in High Roller Event
- HK $3,000 Queens Event
- A Brand-new HK $20,000 King Size Stack Event
With this event hosted in one of the most prestigious casinos in Macau, where only a handful of poker events have ever been staged, add in the fact that no other events are running at the same time in the region, a large contingent of pros and celebrities have already confirmed their participation. Here’s a look at some of those names:
Also on the roster are HKPPA members Sparrow Cheung and Derx Kwok; Malaysian players Ying Lin Chua who won the WPT Philippines 2016, and Victor Chong; and a big showing of Mainland China players Celine Lin, Xin Jin, Leon Hsu, Hui Dong Gu, Quan Zhou, Juicy Li, Xiao Shan Wang, Wei Zhou Cha and Wei Yi Zhang.
This huge line up of players will likely draw some fireworks and nonstop power packed action. Stay tuned to Somuchpoker as we follow up this intro with a recap and results of the upcoming Warm Up event and the High Roller event which began last night.
